Title: Help with Dao Shuai / Master Chu & the Drunkard Hu
Post by: KlondikeFops on November 24, 2024, 09:25:59 PM
Hi! I've been exploring Joy Van's NES catalog recently, and I of course came across Master Chu. I was curious about the Chinese variant, so I found a copy and decided to play it through. However, unlike the US version, it works fine for the first level, only to turn into a glitched mess afterwards. I'm fairly certain it's using the tile / sprite set from Level 1, so it must not be switching the banks. Does anyone know why this happens?

Your fair certainty is unwarranted. It uses a different CHR bank for level 2. Use a halfway-current emulator with an unhacked ROM file, such as the attached one.
