I've come across an old topic here mentioning the translated C&E's Beggar Prince (by Super Fighter Team) resetting after trying to get the healing spell from the mage nearly at the very beginning of the game. I made some investigation and finally found a ROM that has the Super Fighter Team's logo removed and no resetting issue. I don't know if it is legit to put a link here, but if it wouldn't break any rules I can give the file. Hovewer, the in-game save feature doesn't seem to work. When I try to write my progress into any slot, nothing happens - there is just a jingle and the slots still remain empty.

I've found some short videos showing both a ROM hack and a hack made on a real hardware cartridge that has all the issues (game reset and save not working) fixed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JYXbsxaTBk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZPP-Y7bOS0

The comments under the videos are closed though, and the author didn't leave any info on how he did that. Is it possible to achieve the same results somehow by hacking the existing ROMs, and what steps should be done for that? I don't have a flash cartridge to play on a hardware console but I'd still like to figure out how to make that for Kega Fusion 3.63 (that's the emulator I use for Sega MD most of the time).

Any ideas or desire to try and help with the ROM hack (as I'm out of the loop about that) would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

You might want to check your system for malware now.
Already done! I'm aware of the risks such Chinese software has for the PC. Anyway, thanks for worrying!

NewRisingSun, thanks a lot! The ROM I have found on the website mentioned above had another romanized title (maybe because of another dialect used?) but in fact it seems to be the same. Unfortunately, I am a total noob in Chinese...  ;D

Hello everybody. Can you please provide me some help in getting the ROM of Pokemon Crystal by Jncota (the one that is described on this page https://bootleggames.fandom.com/wiki/Pokemon_Emerald/Crystal_Version_(Jncota) of the Wiki?). I found an archive with the ROM on some Chinese website called Emumax but even after I downloaded the software they asked for downloading their files, I couldn't get the archive due to speed always being zero. I don't know if the problem is because of their server's fault or my location (Ukraine).
I would be very grateful for the ROM to check it out.

Famicom/NES dumps / ROM Requests
« on: January 06, 2017, 02:00:54 PM »
piratenesgames, thanks for your reply. I know about Chief-Net group for quite a long time and there already was a question to the author about if it was a dumped ROM on the video or a record from TV tuner. He said it was a record and he tried to make a dump of that game earlier but it was not successful. So I thought maybe somebody of the members here was lucky to make a dump. Maybe CaH4e3 would be able to do it if he gets a cartridge?

Does anybody have a hack of Elf Legend (NES sprite/palette hack of Chip 'n Dale 2)? I accidentally found a video with a piece of gameplay on Youtube video but it was never mentioned in digital format (dumped), only as a part of 8 in 1 multicart originating from Thailand or somewhere nearby.
Many thanks in advance for any information on that hack.

Famicom/NES dumps / The Lion King Legeng (NES) + ROM
« on: August 18, 2012, 02:11:09 PM »
Wow, this looks pretty nice  :) At first I even thought that they've ripped the graphics from Super Game's Lion King. After completing the first level I saw the difference more clearly, anyway, good work for Waixing. Controls may be a bit more light, but this one is still better than the licensed Gameboy port   That "level" setting also made me surprised.  I surely should give it a closer look. Something really fresh and doesn't seem to be a complete crap. Does anybody know how many stages are in this game? There are 7 music tracks as I understood, but I haven't listened to all of them yet.

BTW, can somebody tell me are there any other Waixing's platformers already dumped (except Wizard of Oz, Doraemon and The Lion King Legeng)?

Ah. I know the 200-in-1 won't load on nestopia. Does the game ripped by itself load up on nestopia or any emulator?
Why don't you try to load the 200-in-1 on CaH4e3's modified version of FCEU? You can get it here. It works there normally. Or you just need a rip of this single game?

I've made a repro to play on my Megadrive and the game seems to work fine. I've just played it quickly and got my ass handed to me by the first boss, but there was no freeze whatsoever.
The game has only four levels and if I'm not mistaken the third level doesn't have a boss at all. Maybe you should give it another try  :)

Although it is cool to have this great game on MD, what is the interest oh porting a 8bit game to a 16bits system as is?
You know, I asked myself the same question when I saw this for the first time. They've just ripped off all the graphics from the original and brought nothing new to the game. Moreover, they didn't care about the music and the storyline, so if you wanna get that nostalgic feeling, you can just take a NES emulator instead. What does it mean for the players? Just a marketing act? Something like "Yeah, now you can get the eternal NES classics on your Sega MD"! An 8-bit game on a 16-bit console? Looks strange. As for me, porting 16-bit games to NES is really interesting, because even some pirate-made games can show that NES has high potential that wasn't used before (remember Super Lion King, Donkey Kong 4 and Pocahontas 2). But what is the sense of bringing lower-generation games to Sega? I can't give an answer.
