...but what explains the Yong Yong part? Was EHY involved with Yong Yong in their other games? (Aside from Thunder Blast Man)
Not sure. Are there are any credits in Thunder Blast Man or does it just send you back to the map screen when you beat the game? Mind you, the latter happens in Rockman 8.- Title: Yong Yong

Jurassic Boy 2 is weird though. it uses EHY fonts too but its way better than any Yong Yong Sonic-ish game. whereas Thunder Blast Man just seems to be built off Rockman 8's engine, complete with shitty Yong Yong music.- Title: Yong Yong

Post by: taizou on August 09, 2010, 04:08:19 PM- Thunder Blast Man is colour though. I don't think they would have taken a step backwards and made Rockman 8 in mono after that.

I'd say that makes sense for Rockman 8 to be first but if Sachen used the engine afterwards then would that mean Yong Yong was associated with them?- Title: Yong Yong
Post by: taizou on August 09, 2010, 05:10:06 PM- I think so. probably what happened is Sachen wanted to develop some new GBC games in 1999-2000, but they'd already laid off all their development staff in ~1995, so they outsourced Thunder Blast Man to Yong Yong. if EHY worked for both then they'd already have a contact there.
Jurassic Boy 2 is still kind of a mystery to me though. and i've never played/seen/anything GBC Street Heroes.- Title: Yong Yong
Post by: SpaceNinja on August 22, 2010, 02:36:58 AM- Rockman 8 is not mono, guys.
I used the mono setting to make the platforms at least appear more frequently.- Title: Yong Yong

Post by: Smedis2 on August 30, 2011, 12:17:35 PM- I apologize EXTREMELY for bumping this old thread, but knowing pirates, they probably did use TBH as a base to make RM8.
It seems like a stretch, but I'd believe it.
Rockman 8 is a heavily hacked Rockman World 3.- Title: Yong Yong
Post by: taizou on August 31, 2011, 01:16:58 PM- I was wondering about that actually. Is there any proof that it really is a hack rather than an original game with elements ripped from RMW3?
But yeah, Thunder Blast Man definitely came after RM8, on account of it being in colour and all.
