Super Famicom/SNES / Sonic the Hedgehog 4
« on: November 14, 2011, 05:13:08 PM »
I just had a quick question about the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 pirate cart, and I suppose by extension any SNES pirate cart.

If it comes in a SNES shell, like in this picture:

Will it work on a US SNES or will I still have to get a converter?  And if I do, would a Game Genie do the trick?

Thanks for the info, folks!

Famicom/NES / Basic Famiclone Question(s)
« on: October 05, 2011, 05:32:18 PM »
Howdy,

I'm new to the whole Famiclone business, so I was just wondering if they worked on US TVs/outlets, or if they're incompatibile.  I was thinking about buying this particular Famiclone off of somebody, but if it doesn't work then I don't think I'd bother.

My second question is if any Famiclones come with a mic in the controller like the original Famicom.

Thanks for any info guys!

Mega Drive/Genesis / Street Fighter III 18?

Saw this on eBay.  Anybody got any info on this one?

Do they generally come with a battery so you can save your progress?  I bought one recently and I'm super jazzed to finally getting to play it, but to get to the Wily Tower you have to beat Mega Mans 1-3 first and I'd rather not have to do it in one epic sitting, especially since Mega Man 1 is one of the hardest Mega Mans for me.

I unintentionally got a pirate copy of Mario & Luigi (oh my naivety in thinking that a copy of the game from China could possibly be legit) and it came with a battery, so are the chances good?

Famicom/NES / Super Mario Party (NES)
« on: August 03, 2011, 04:38:37 PM »
Hey guys,

I have a pirate NES game I bought in the late, late 90's off of eBay called "Super Mario Party".  I'm really new to actually knowing anything about this stuff that I'm buying, I just love the idea of playing these awesome hacks and what not, but I was really curious about this one.  Has anyone come across it before?

It's basically the NES version of Super Mario All-Stars.  It has Super Marios 1-3, Lost Levels, and if I remember correctly even the arcade Mario Bros. game.  They're all the NES versions that you pick from a simple menu, but I've never seen it before or since the copy I got.

Any info on it?  If you guys are really interested I can dig it out of my old room at my parents place and take a picture of it, but only if there's a legitimate interest because that would require some legitimate effort.  :-P

If this is the wrong subforum for this, I apologize.  I really don't know when it was made.  Thanks for reading!

Bootleg Bazaar / WTB: Famicom and Megadrive Pirate carts
« on: August 03, 2011, 04:25:00 PM »
Hey guys,

I used to collect pirated games back in high school when I was collecting NES games, and while I don't plan on developing a huge collection of them or anything, I am looking for certain titles that I'm very interested in buying.  Those games are:

NES/Famicom:

-Mario Hacks (they can be single cart or multicarts, I don't have much of a preference.  I just want to play them on on a real console)

Super Mario 7 (The Flintstones)
Super Mario 12 - (Yoshi's Cookie)
Super Mario 13 - (Tiny Toon Adventures 2)
Super Mario 13 - (Saiyuuki World 2/Whomp'em)
Super Mario 15 - (Super Mario Bros. apparently?)
Super Mario 16 - (Kaiketsu Yanchamaru 2)
Super Mario 17 - (Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers)

-Any various Mario hacks like Mario & Sonic 2, Super Mario Kart Rider, Super Mario World, etc.

-World Heroes 2

Sega Genesis/Megadrive:

-Super Mario World 64

-King of Fighters 99

-Any random fighting games (I have a few already but I'd be interested in getting more if they're goofy enough and/or interest me)

Feel free to reply here or shoot me a PM!  Thanks for looking!
