Speaking of the The Battle of Red Cliffs, the sound effects definitely suggest that it's by Gamtec and I think it's based off the same game as San Guo Zhi IV by Future Media/Cony/whatever they're called.
Yeah, that is definitely the Wonder Boy sound engine-- and the fonts are from PC Paint, too-- so yeah, I think your Gamtec suspicion is correct. :)
And the subtitle of Future's San Guo Zhi IV literally means "Red Cliff Wind Cloud". So yeah. No idea if they're both based on the same PC game or something, or if one is a remake/demake of the other, but yeah, they're the same game more or less.
Oh, something else interesting. That Pirates of the Caribbean 3 game? I assumed that the music, being so good, had to have been ripped from a legit game. Nope, judging from a hex dump, they used sample modules from TFM Music Maker. :D

BTW, that Pirates of the Carribean game looks a lot like a cross between Overboard and Battle City if anything. Given that the latter was rather prolific in Russia, it's probably a homebrew effort. Oh, and the game is so awesome it managed to bugger up Kega Fusion because it doesn't like Cyrillic letters.

At least now I know Kega is consistently buggy across platforms. :)
I just noticed something, the music sounds like it was converted with that MIDI converter that Tommy Xie made. I might be wrong, but I think one of the stage themes is remade from a Mega Man game (it might take a few tries to get it because the theme is randomised and there's about 6 of them) and the game over theme is sampled from a Master System game.
LOL T3 the Arcade Game actually T2 the Arcade Game hahahha, ah Russia... way to make Chinese knockoffs look authentic.
I played Battle Of Red Cliffs earlier on and it's quite dreadful, as the controls are nearly broken. I mean, you turn to the opposite direction when you get hit and there's poor hit detection also. When I do a video of it later this month or in September, you'll know what I mean. And for that Pirates Of The Carribean game... is that a hack or a pirate original? I'm intrigued by it for some reason.

And Pirates is definitely some sort of homebrew thing.

Some of them are ones we've already seen, like TTA3 and Power Rangers. But then there's the unencrypted ROM of Red Cliffs.
Damn, I forgot to post my dump link to that from a month or so ago on this board. Glad to see it's making it's rounds though :)
On my RetroN3, Red Cliffs really sounds great where the sound channels aren't quite at the right equalization. The bass in the songs really jumps out.
There's a ton of interesting stuff there. Looks like almost all of the Russian hacks are accounted for now, with the exception of just a few. Now where the hell is Biohazard 3?
Out of interest, which ones haven't been dumped yet?
Not dumped yet are:
Smeshariki
Spongebob Squarepants
Kung Fu Panda 1
Tanks: New Battle
Biohazard 3
OK wait, by Biohazard 3, do you mean like the Japanese name for Resident Evil?

Yep. No info about it other than it exists.
I was hoping they'd at least make a new sprite for each game. Woulda been neat if they had a well drawn Crash Bandicoot :/
Many of the ROM headers mention build dates around 2010, while others aren't altered at all from their original games.
Some of this shit is really, really lazy; like the Mafia game. They just did a palette swap on Dick Tracy and just blacked out the cutscenes. Makes me really appreciate Glorysun and Twin Eagle Group's "hard" work :) And why does Mafia's header info state it's FOR B.M.B ? Is that just garbage or an acronym for a MD clone?
At least they put eyes on the windshields in Cars 2.
Some of it I can at least give credit for a bit of innovation; Fast 5 has new car sprites and works in a lot of shitty digitized art from the movie.

Although at least with Ice Age they did a weird sprite re-color of Awesome Possum. (Although he really doesn't look anything like Scrat and there's a grey spot that always appears on his stomach really briefly, don't if that's a piece of the old sprite left or something.)
@Azathoth & Cheetahmen: Well, I suppose what would be more likely? A pirate Resident Evil or Biohazard Battle?

Smeshariki is a Russian cartoon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GoGoRiki), known as GoGoRiki in English. The Mega Drive game is probably a hack, given that all the other cartoon-based Russian games are...

Otherwise their usual lazy hack the title=new game routine. But then I wonder what they'd hack and call Spongebob...Maybe Spot? Don't know, just guessing because a lot of the levels have some kind of water/beach theme.

Yeah but then again they could hack something completely irrelevant and say it's Spongebob, maybe they'll hack Mortal Kombat...Now that'd be awesome!
They would most likely hack a platformer game because it's much easier to edit one character than a bunch. Besides, the Sponge Bob hack I think is a Cool Spot one. I heard it was one somewhere iirc.
Yeah I know I most likely wouldn't get a Spongebob MK hack...but it'd be sooooo lawlzy if they did! But wait, you mean that game is a Cool Spot hack? Wow I guessed right! cool:
Sorry for a little late response.
Well, I saw Red Cliff movie at Sir Brydo's Youtube channel - This one is totally crazy ripoff of Warriors of Fate by Capcom.
Rusty moves, poor SFX, not-so-good graphic.

A new edition of NonGoodGen (http://hi.baidu.com/kamming/blog/item/4e88be237a68b65fac34de54.html) came out earlier today with some more of these hacks. I'll attempt to list the games that they're hacked from:
Avatar - Jim Power (I'm pretty sure that was mentioned earlier. And Jim is now blue in a vain attempt to tie the game to the movie. :P )
Cars 2 - Championship Pro-Am
Crash Bandicoot - Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel
Diablo - Final Labyrinth
Fast and Furious 5 - Combat Cars
FIFA 2010 - FIFA International Soccer(?)
Gran Turismo 5 - Funcar Rally
Ice Age III - ???
Madagascar - The Japanese version of Decap Attack
Madagascar III - A Dinosaur's Tale
Mafia - Dick Tracy
Narnia - Galahad
Naruto ( ) - ???
NFS Undercover - Turbo Outrun
Shrek - Yogi Bear
Shrek 2 - The Ottifants
Snow Queen - Mick and Mack in the Global Gladiators or whatever it's called
Star Wars "Jedy" - Wolfchild
T3 The Arcade Game - T2 The Arcade Game :P
Transformers 3 - Mazin Saga
Winx 3D ( ) - ???
Any of these games pirate originals by any chance?
Not counting the ones on that Russian site, I don't think so.
Could you link me the ones you don't know? I might be able to idetnfi it.
Also the "Колобок - Пирамида" is a pirate of a homebrew game IIRC... I could try to find the original later.

oh derp, I had assumed it was a full set =P
FIFA 2010 - not sure where all this intro code comes from; it might possibly be FIFA International Soccer but I'd need to check more games
Ice Age III - Chuck Rock
Naruto - 3 Ninjas Kick Back
Winx 3D - Valis III

FIFA 2010 - not sure where all this intro code comes from; it might possibly be FIFA International Soccer but I'd need to check more games
The intro might be programmed from scratch as far as I can tell. Then again, I've never played the original game so I'm not entirely sure.
I've seen portions of the intro in some of the other hacked soccer games, though...
Also I remember now (thanks to Sik): Колобок is a hack of a homebrew port (http://gendev.spritesmind.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=701&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=) of a ZX Spectrum game "Uwol: Quest for Money" recreated by... TFM Music Maker's/VGM Music Maker's author Shiru, who is also Russian.
You know all these Russian title screen hacks make me wonder, how hard is it to hack a title screen? I'd love to hack the Tiny Toon Adventures 3 title screen to give the fucking rabbit some LEGS.

I guess it would be even easier to hack, considering it's opensource, too...
>_< i seen the site, but when i use my 7z extracter it gets the files out, but when i load it on emulator, it only shows me a blak screen. HELP!!!
What emulator are you trying to use? KEGA usually works for me.
I DO use Kega. I also use 7 - Zip File Manager to extract.
I usually use WinRAR to extract files. However, most extractors should work. If the game has Russian characters in the filename, the emulator won't load it, so make sure to rename it in that case. Also make sure its running the game in megadrive mode (no mastersystem or 32x). Other than that, I can't think of any reasons why it wouldn't work.
