Does anyone here know what these are?

“史上第一片震動格鬥gb卡 7月1日震撼推出”. I guess the Makon distributor also advertised games. On the wiki people no longer consider this a Makon game due to its maker code, but it was definitely sold by the same distributor as Makon’s games, and was even released in a rumble cart. Also it uses their copy protection

Game Boy / BBD Goldfinger Cheating Device
« on: September 06, 2021, 12:59:39 AM »
Recently I saw a cheating device for the GBC branded as bBd. I was wondering if anyone here knew if this was the same as BBD, just different capitalization. I know that cheating devices are not really the focus of this site, but I figured that if it had ties to a major bootleg/unlicensed developer hat it would be fitting. If it is by BBD, then maybe it has codes for their games already programmed into it. I know that Vast Fame's cheating device, the Firebird, has codes built in for some of their games (though they reused header names at times so I don't know what exact games the codes are for, but whichever one it is, it used the header name Shawu Story). Also, does anyone here have a picture of the Firebird?

If the rules remain unchanged from back when this website was called "Pirate Games Central Forums" then you should be able to post a ROM file. If you look at each console's forum board you'll notice that there are places to upload ROMs, so I'd say you're probably allowed to do that

Edit: You may want to read up on those old rules just to be on the safe side. To my knowledge this was the last time they were updated

A long time ago I mentioned a magazine with a Gowin ad. If I am reading it right the magazine is called Wolf Weekly or 疾風快報. Another issue of the magazine has a slightly modified version of this ad. I wonder if Gowin showed off any other games through this

Edit:Here is another issue of the magazine advertising Gowin's Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, though this time they cover it like how they cover other games, instead of having a really out of place looking ad

Edit: Ok, I've seen at least five issues of these things with Gowin adverts in them for their multicarts and color games. Does anyone here know if other unlicensed/bootleg companies advertised through magazines, and if so, what magazines they were advertised in?

Edit: I  have seen Magic Lamp in one ad and Journey to the West in another. If GS-14 exists and was advertised in the magazine, then I bet it was between those two volumes

Edit: They even mentioned Gowin's Crouching Tiger game by name on their website

Pirate Talk / Re: Finds

Recently I got a few games in the mail. The most interesting one was 數碼精靈 綠寶石, which is the same as 寵物小精靈 結晶塔之王's English release by NGCA, but with Chinese text edited in. This means different music, starting Pokemon, pallet for the main character portrait, and the ability to immediately fight the final boss. The starting Pokemon appear to have the same stats and moves as the starting Digimon from Digimon Pocket, and the main character's portrait has the same pallet as the one in Digimon Pocket. I think I'll call these versions of Vast Fame games that introduce elements from their other games hybrid Vast Fame games. Come to think of it, Digimon Crystal has a hybrid version, and coincidentally that is the version that the NGCA English release of the game is based off of. Digimon Sapphire also uses audio from other Vast Fame games, so if I  had to guess there is a version of it with different music, and the known versions are hybrid versions of the game. The other NGCA English Vast Fame game is Rockman Zero, a hack of Zook 2. Zook 2 also has a hybrid release, Rockman X3. If I has to guess I'd say that Rockman Zero is based on that, does anyone here have the ability to confirm that? Additionally I found a GB-A76E cart for Digimon Diamond by Makon, so I guess I'll be releasing the ROM for that soon, completing the known library of Makon Digimon games. I also found a cart that uses characters from the box art of the color release of Binary Monsters 1 for its sticker art. It also uses Binary Monster's title, but appears to be a hack of a monster raising game. If anyone here could help me identify what it is originally that would be appreciated. I included a screenshot of it.

Edit: The monster raising game is Dino Breeder by J-Wing

Game Boy dumps / Re: [ROM Request] Zook Hero Z English Version
« on: July 10, 2021, 01:05:15 AM »
If you check the thread where I posted my ROM dumps you can find a dump of "Rockman DX8" which is the Li Cheng release of English Zook Z. I'll attach the nonworking original ROM if you are interested in that

I'll tell you what I remember off the top of my head, but I don't think I'll be able to recall the most specific details (someone who has been in the community for longer would be better for that). The earliest mention of a Sintax GBA game I am aware of was a YouTube video in which the uploader said they betrayed the trust of a ROM collector who had leaked prototype builds of some Sintax GBA Digimon games. The one in English was called Digimon Adventure, which is why the defacto name for a lot of these is Digimon Adventure hacks. This game was a port of an earlier game for the SNES. Up until 2020 these leaked ROMs were the only dumps of these games. In 2020 Taizou cracked YJ Encryption, the copy protection of these games. Afterwards, he, yy小龙虾, and RibShark would release ROMs for a large portion of their library, even covering a couple of games that were not just reskins of Digimon Adventure. If anyone found all of the Sintax gba games it is    yy小龙虾. The only Sintax GBA games that are dumped to my knowledge can all be found on yy小龙虾's twitter, hhug, and RibShark's twitter, though I am not 100% certain on that, and that does not include the prototype games I mentioned earlier. I do not know what Ge Dou Jian Shian is, but I do know that people have jumped the gun plenty of times on the wiki and added things before they had enough info. Without tone marks or the Hanzi "Ge Dou Jian Shian" does not give great info. The Megaman 5 game is probably just a PocketNES port of the real Megaman 5, though it is worth mentioning that Sintax did release GBC games in GBA shells and did create a game called Rockman X5 (which goes by other names as well). That should at least get you started on your search, Taizou and yy小龙虾 are probably the most knowledgeable people on this subject

Here's the YouTube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTgUPOdj9GI

Edit: Ge Dou Jian Shen is a way to write Soul Falchion's name. That is a gbc game by Vast Fame, but I think that Sintax borrowed its music in their gba games

Game Boy / Re: Sintax The Lion King 2 GBA
« on: June 14, 2021, 12:34:24 AM »
That is just some weird Twitter jank. Since Twitter links seem to not always work I'd just search up yySintax aka yy小龙虾 on Twitter. They're the ones who dumped the game. I'll go ahead and attach the file, but I highly recommend checking out their twitter since they ripped many more gba Sintax games

Scroll to the bottom of the page I linked. Click on GBC官方游戏ROM全集(no-intro)(1495个). Click on the red link that says 下载地址1(城通网盘)   Next to that link is a password you need to type in to download it (you just need the password, no account). In this case the password is oldman

Game Boy dumps / Re: Yong yong game (rom request)
« on: June 02, 2021, 12:41:06 PM »
That should be available on oldmanemu.net

It should also be in MAME if you know how to search that. Also, that game is by Sachen, not Yong Yong, though they appear to be closely related. Best of luck to you

103
Yes. If you want to find more of the older dumps of unlicensed GBC stuff, I recommend checking oldmanemu.net. They have most of the more commonly circulated older games, and even a few waixing titles that rarely get talked about on English language websites

104
I have ROMs for the Chinese versions of those games, and some of the ROMs for the English versions. Some of these were taken from Taizou's website, so those will require his emulator. The others are really old rips (except Digimon 3 Crystal, which I ripped off of a pirate cart). Hopefully those older rips didn't introduce any major glitches. Anyways, aside from the different language versions of these (English/Spanish) the only Makon Digimon game missing should be Digimon Diamond (unless I forgot one)

105
It's undumped. All that is available is the Li Cheng release of the Chinese version
