Famicom/NES / how to open a screwless nes case
« on: January 10, 2014, 01:36:56 AM »
I figured it out. You have to squeeze the plastic on the back half of the plastic casing at the bottom of the cart and apply a little bit of pressure to pry it open. One side at a time. Then push the back half of the cart down from the top to completely separate the casing.  Have to be careful though these bootleg nes carts break so easy.

I have a bunch of nes bootlegs I want to open but they don't have screws. I can't figure out how to open them up without breaking the case. Anyone have any insight?

Famicom/NES / why some nes multicarts don't work in original nes

Hmm looks like I'm going to have to buy a top loader. Bust out my screw driver and run some comparison tests.

The seller said he tested them in an nes with the lockout chip disabled and they didn't work. But they work in a top loader and on a spica systen. I find this bizarre. The carts are nos.

Just curious if anyone can shed some light on this for me.  I was about to buy 10 spica nes multicart then the seller told me they only work in unofficial consoles (spica, microgenius). Why is this? Any way around it? I was planning on reselling them. Carts are 126 in 1, red cart, multicoloured box with sonic on the front.
