Ok, after finally finding this board from... not being able to find it in a while (mostly due to initiative), I've come across way too much Contra-related stuff to let this slide.

This topic is about all the CONTRA-RELATED pirates that we are aware about and it would be wonderful if you guys contribute to this discussion.

I have one more on a multicart, "Contra 7", its just a title screen hack of Heavy Barrel. nothing else is changed.

and there are hacks called Risker and Bounce on the 101 in 1 with X-Plan, are those the ones youre talking about? Didnt notice anything ripped from Contra though.oh yeah, and theres a very blatant Contra clone by Waixing on some 16-bit Wii clones (including the one I own).. I think its called Commander.

Speaking of Commander, what are some gameplay elements from Contra?By the way, Taizou, I sent you a PM at the RXcom. Check that out when you get time.

Yeah, I'll get some screenshots soon.. Commander's gameplay is 100% Contra, same weapons, same somersault jump, everything. the first level's graphics are mostly ripped straight from Contra 3 (although theres a helicopter from Metal Slug in there too). the sound effects are basically the same, and the music sounds like a 5 second loop of some kind of cover of the first level music from Contra 1, not sure if thats ripped from any legit Contra game.

If you listen to the music in most of the other hacks you'll find that it sucks compared to the original game thanks to an awful hacking job. Also, many of JungleTac's games have stolen Contra sound effects as well, but there's too many to list.

Incidentally, it's also been released on some of their Wii knockoffs under the title "Super X Man". Which is still read out loud on the title screen of "Commander". Great quality control there, Waixing.

I also like how the portraits on the Select Player screen are taken from Contra: Hard Corps. Also, isn't the opening music taken from Ninja Gaiden or something?
