Post by: bootsector on February 26, 2013, 05:58:31 AM- None of the Sega Genesis SFT games are being sold currently. I've sent Mr. Cobb an email asking when they will be available for sell again. I was promptly ignored (but he took the chance to add my email address to his newsletter). Prices on eBay for these games are also ridiculous, so I thought it was a good time to release these.

I arrived late to the SFT games so I missed out on Beggar Prince, and I'm sure as hell not paying hundreds of dollars to some asshole Ebay guy for a copy. I would totally buy a copy if more prints of the game were made, don't get me wrong.

I know one of the reasons these two games were chosen by SFT to be translated and released for Western audiences was the lack of reused/stolen/unauthorized content when compared to other MD games.
Are there any assets like music, FX, sprites, or other stuff that are straight-up lifted from other licensed games? If so, was any of that changed for the SFT release?
What about the music, does it have recycle stuff from previous unlicensed MD games?- Title: Beggar Prince and Legend of Wukong were dumped!
Post by: taizou on March 01, 2013, 08:28:08 AM- I don't think C&E ever stole anything, they were pretty much a class act, so I'm sure Beggar Prince is 100% original. Gamtec could be a bit more dubious so I dunno about Wukong, but I haven't noticed anything blatantly stolen - as far as I know they never ripped anything directly in their earlier games though, even when the concept wasn't original (eg Squirrel King)

Post by: tymime on June 26, 2014, 04:32:18 AM- Trying out BP today, seem to have come up against a bug- or possibly something else. Whenever I try to learn my first spell, the game resets and so I can't leave the first town.
Anybody got any clues? (I've got an idea of what might be going on, though...)
