For basic hacks, (graphics) you can use Tile Layer Pro, or Tile Molester, but if you want to edit text in games you will need to grab a hex editor (Hex Workshop, or Windhex32).

Oh and also i forgot to mention sometimes the text is seeable or you can't see it.

What you have made with YY-CHR cannot be called a real bootleg... it's just a common ROM hack pretending to be a bootleg game for now. You'd better not make an article about your games on BootlegGames Wiki anymore, just like what you did with your Super Garfield 3.

Every "bootleg games" we discuss here are actually sold in some physical, mass-produced form - usually as a cartridge form. Someone actually tried to make profit with stolen stuffs. Most ROM hacks are not the case, and it is very hard to do it with NES/Famicom ROM hack in these days, considering the diminished 8-bit gaming market.
