New 15 in 1 (E)
« on: October 24, 2014, 06:44:50 AM »
:D Hi guys:
this week i found this cart in a second-hand shop.
It´s a multicart containing 15 games, but in the label contains the following text "TEXTOS DE PANTALLA EN CASTELLANO" display texts in castilian (spanish), i was puzzled by that claim, so i bought the cartridge (I planned to buy it anyway), and i found the following games:
-POKÉMON AZUL (POKÉMON BLUE)
-SUPER MARIO 4
-TOM & JERRY
- SUPER CHASE HQ
-WORLD CUP 99
-SPY Vs SPY
-WWF SUPERSTAR
-DIE SCHLUMPFE (The Smurfs)
-BUGS BUNNY
-MARIO &YOSHI
-DUCK TALES
-CENTIPEDE
-LODE RUNNER
-DR. MARIO
All the games was in their original languages, but the only game in spanish was as you imagine, the Pokémon Azul (blue).
It's not the first time i see a multicart with a spanish language copy of pokémon, but it's the first time i see one marketed in this way.
The Smurfs game doesn't count, it was a multi language.

maybe it could be dumped but it probably won't run in current emulators, aside from the menu. but then i guess the menu is really the only novel part about it, the 15 games will almost certainly be the same as the existing dumps.

still, interesting to see a GB cart catering for languages other than English, Japanese or Chinese, they don't show up very often - I recall seeing an Italian-language multi for the GBA, and there was a German translation of Dragonball Fight 2002/3/5/6/whatever and maybe a couple of Sintax games, but it's still a fairly rare find.

Isn't the first time i see this kind of cartridge, i posted few weeks ago another finding with another Pokémon (gold) in castilian, it was a little more obscure, because the Pokémon game was "unofficial" translation.
Basically, it's the same recipe, a Pokémon game translated, and few old games, the main difference is the labeling.
