Title: DVS Electronics - More than South American SNES games?
Post by: Azathoth on September 12, 2011, 12:50:40 AM
Ran across this cheat device which I did not know even existed.

As you can see it's similar to the older Gameshark/Action Replay models that required the dongle for them to work. Since PS1 codes weren't encoded they worked cross platform with most cheat devices, I wonder which type this actually supported?

I had no idea DVS produced anything other than SNES bootlegs. Has anyone else ran into anything they've made?

One thing's for sure: the URL shown on the CD ends in .tw; thus, DVS is Taiwanese. (No surprise there, really.)

Edit: Good news: gamegenius.com.tw is in the Internet Archive (http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://www.gamegenius.com.tw/). Bad news: it's not loading right now.

Well using the power of the Wayback Machine (http://web.archive.org/web/200102020308/http://www.gamegenius.com.tw/), DVS were apparently big on Game Genie/Game Shark/etc devices. Also, as far as I can tell their site was up between 2001 and 2002.

And I see that I have a really bad sense of timing. :P Also, the archive works for me.

Wasn't DVS the makers of that Pokémon SNES game? :\
