that reminds me, i should really do something with all the pics i've saved from auction sites over the years.. i wrote this sort of image gallery thing for my site and i've uploaded about 50 into it so far, but its completely unfinished and buggy so im not gonna make it public yet. i'm not even sure if my super-ultra-cheap hosting plan gives me enough disk space for the 1000's i've got. I could PM you the link though ;D

Yeah me too. I wonder if "K" and Taiwan Shin-Shin are even the same company actually.. the only place Shin-Shin is mentioned is EWJ2, and you could interpret that screen as meaning Taiwan Shin-Shin is the "exclusive agening in Peking" for K, rather than K and Shin-Shin being the same entity.

edit- maybe K is even NT, come to think of it. NT's Chinese name is "Ka Sheng", and the two logos often appear together on hidden screens and whatnot. though you'd think they would have used the "K" logo on cart labels if that was the case.

there are a bunch of other Kxxxx carts, mostly generic pirates and stuff i think. I might have one somewhere. i wonder if its K as in Taiwan Shin-Shin though?

edit- heres mine, two 6 in 1s:

yeah, JY-118 could be KOF, but we'll never know until someone finds it.. it could equally just be a generic multicart.

and Contra Spirits could have been the same kinda situation - maybe EHY was developing it for JY originally but he took it to NT instead for some reason, and he just didnt bother to remove the logo because he's much lazier than Hummer Team :D

Maybe KOF was originally in development for JY around the time of the split, and the people who left took it with them and finished it in 1998 to be published by NT - thatd explain why theres a JY logo screen in the game without the graphics, as if it was removed at the last minute, but its never been found on a JY cart.

Well it's entirely possible for a developer to work for two publishers at the same time. theres no reason Hummer would have to be tied to either JY or NT and not work for the other one. although the fact that their last two games for JY don't have original music and one of them is credited to "Jing Tay Team" makes me think there was still a split around 1998 or so.

might be worth asking cah4e3 what he uses though. copyNES is the only one I know of, apart from a few ancient Bung copiers that only dump certain old mappers onto FDS disks.

it does actually have credits (in chinese) but none of them are Ei-How Yang. the only Yang there is "Wenguang Yang" as far as I can work out.

1993-1999 / Someri Team still around after 1994...?
« on: August 09, 2010, 05:41:06 PM »
Maybe Someri/Hummer were working for Ge De & JY at the same time.. MK2S was something like their fourth game for JY wasn't it? (after Aladdin, MK2 non-special and SMW, assuming the ID numbers are in order). so it wouldnt make much sense for Garou to contain remnants of MK2S if they only started working for JY afterwards.

Game Boy / Yong Yong

I think so. probably what happened is Sachen wanted to develop some new GBC games in 1999-2000, but they'd already laid off all their development staff in ~1995, so they outsourced Thunder Blast Man to Yong Yong. if EHY worked for both then they'd already have a contact there.

Jurassic Boy 2 is still kind of a mystery to me though. and i've never played/seen/anything GBC Street Heroes.

Thunder Blast Man is colour though. I don't think they would have taken a step backwards and made Rockman 8 in mono after that.
