BootlegGames Wiki / Looking to add content to the Wiki

Hi, I've arrived here from FW and I'm very interested in pirates. I'd love to add some stuff to the wiki from my own collection and I had a few questions.
welcome! i'm an admin on the wiki, hopefully I can be of some assistance.

How do you want to handle "quality control" in your multicart section? Of course I have the generic 1000-1s, but I also have some slightly more interesting 2-1s ETC. Is it OK to submit anything I got?
I'd say so, yeah. If its pirate related and you can write something about it, by all means do so. We have infinite space after all. (pretty much)

Also, I think this one's obvious but I should just ask anyway- If I have a picture of the cartridge for a game, I can just add it in the game's page, right?
absolutely, yes. any pics we don't have would be much appreciated.

Another thing. I would like to submit a Famiclone, but since I don't know how WIKI works really. How can you add a page into the famiclone section?
Underneath the main editing box theres a grey button that says "add category". click on that, type Famiclones, press enter. Same goes for any category - so for example if you're adding a multicart you should type Multicarts, and so on.
a page can be in multiple categories - eg most games are in at least three. the main "Games" category, one for its genre, and one for its console.

:D thanks.

crowing like a rooster to trick them into thinking its daytime is possibly the best way to get (generic guards) to let you out of (generic starting town) that i've seen in any rpg ever. and i've seen a lot of them.

btw the tune from that bloody first town is also used in the story mode of Shisen Mahjong 2. and they both kinda remind me of this in parts, but maybe thats just me.

has anyone played much of this game? I'd quite like to finish it - since it's (I think) a completely original game, and its in Chinese, I think it'd be quite likely to have real names in the credits. so it may be a way to find out the real name of, at the very least, a Someri/Hummer music guy, seeing as it uses the SF2 sound engine.

but slightly embarrasingly i'm down at the first hurdle - I can't figure out how to get out of the damn town you start in.

Game Boy / Stolen music in GB pirates

Yeah, it is a bit. though I guess there werent as many pirate/unlicensed GB developers as on other consoles - its just unfortunate that probably the most prolific one (assuming all these Sintax/SKOB/TD games were developed by the same people, which seems kinda likely) was the one with a habit of stealing music.

I just noticed the music from my 19 in 1 is from Last Bible too. though i guess thats not surprising, what with both menus being pretty much identical. I wonder if the menus were coded by someone who worked on Meng Huan Zhi Xing or if its just a coincidence..

wow :D RPG Maker. Fantastic. seriously did no one apart from V.Fame make their own music on the GBC (and Yong Yong, but, well, yeah).

Last Bible was originally released for the mono GB in 1992 btw (only the '99 colour version got a US release)

my guess would be that the same developer actually made all the games - I'm pretty sure SKOB is just a publisher, Sintax might have done some stuff in-house but they definitely used at least one external developer, BBD. TD-Soft I'm not sure about.

I'm still no closer to knowing if it's stolen from anywhere though (but I played quite a bit of FFIX before I managed to wipe my saves messing about with a Game Genie, I don't recognise any of the True Three Kingdoms tunes from there)

personally I dont mind if people "steal" anything, i'd rather spread the knowledge than have everyone repeating the same old misconceptions that have been around for years (like that theyre "HK originals"). Its all creative commons anyway.

Yeah, I absolutely agree, but we'd need to publicise the wiki itself too - pretty much all the active editors on the wiki post here already, and its quite hard to find on Google unless youre already looking for it.

1993-1999 / KOF96 published by NT
« on: August 20, 2010, 12:24:35 PM »
they probably cut the CHR size down for the NT release too. thatd explain the extra character names in the rom and the JY logo's CHR bank being completely missing rather than just blanked out. although that'd mean if there was a full version out there, itd be at least 1MB, which would make it the largest known Hummer game AFAIK, and indeed the joint largest unlicensed NES game that isnt an RPG or multicart (shared with Street Heroes)
