Wonderful Wide Web / The Mega MIDI Pack
« on: September 08, 2012, 04:34:36 AM »
Man, thanks for this, you never know what you might need a metric ton of MIDIs for. cool:

Also, color me nostalgic, but sometimes, I dunno, MIDIs are just damn nice to listen too. Sometimes over the originals they're usually based on. But that might be just me.

Sorry, oh so sorry, for the bump everyone but curiosity is getting the better of me and I have to say, I second Rob's motion.

I mean, it might be possible that the game is so badly programmed that recording is difficult, that maybe, but if it boots up right from inserting the CD-Rom then an ISO sounds more then ideal: you could say it sounds like the easiest dump ever. Do correct me if I'm wrong though. x3

Pirated Work / RoLRiffs
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:21:07 PM »

Honestly, I don't think this would fit the guidelines of the Pirated Game Reviews section so I'm posting it here instead. If it's better off there then by all means go ahead and move it, oh mods and admin blokes, and I'm sorry in advance for the mistake.

Anyways, as you see above, this is a double feature of both Harry Potter and Harry Potter 3 for the GBC. This came about after several years of urging from old friends and new friends alike to leap back into the reviewing saddle, if it could be called that. But yes, once even SpaceNinja pitched in and kept egging me on to make at least one more vid, I figured I'd indulge everyone and give it a bash.

Two days of hard, frustrating work later, I figured out a way to do it. A method, complete with rules.

- 10 minutes to each recording.
- Run out of lives? End the recording.
- Narrate live, it prevents hesitation.

In short, as Space put it to me, I'm lazy. :D

Anyways, tell me all what you think and I hope this entertains you all. :D
Also, suggestions are moooore then welcome.

Well, seeing as how I actually put up the topic anyway, instead of letting it waste space in the forum, I think it'll be a good idea to change it's name and use it to put up each video, now dubbed a 'riff' over a review.

So yes, this time I took a bash at a couple of Zelda pirates, mostly to just mess with a friend who's an absolute fan. Not much more to say that the video can't say for itself. Except that I tried something new this time and tried cutting out the dead air. I don't think I'll be doing that too much in the future though. It was a little tedious and I might've gone a bit overboard. But give me some thoughts if you have 'em.  :D

Thanks for reading/watching/bearing with me!  :yay:

So really then...I wonder why it's considered a pirate game? :\
I guess becaused it's unlicensed.  Many people group unlicensed and pirate into the same category, as I've seen with original unlicensed games from Taiwan and such.
Hmm, fair enough I suppose. Though CrazyBus of all things seems to be a stretch to me, but oh well, it's still freakin' hilarious regardless. xD

Oh lord yes, it'd be the BEST GAME EVER.
Maybe Mars Production should be involved, I'm sure they'll do the game a great justice!  8D

In all seriousness though, was CrazyBus actually ever released by pirates? Y'know...sold for cash? Because if so then, dammmn, somebody was heartless.
Rumour has it that CrazyBus was released in Venezuela by this man in order to alienate all of his critics and make them fly away from the country: http://pijamasurf.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/hugo-chavez-2.jpg :P
Seriously though, I think it was just a demo released as a ROM :\
At first I thought you were seriously.
Then the joke kicked in. xD

So really then...I wonder why it's considered a pirate game? :\

BUMP sorry, but new edition I found on YouTube, known as Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped (like the PS1 title) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwJEK7d4O3I
It's basically Crash IV, but with a different sprite of crash, different levels, and different title screen. :P
In the short time I've been back in the pirate gaming circuit, this wretched engine has come up a lot and I'm already sick of it. But alas, eventually I'm going to have to go toe-to-toe with it myself.

Especially as I plan to make an article on the engine in the Wiki, due to it being so damn frequent. x3

Mega Drive/Genesis / Working version of Mulan
« on: September 05, 2012, 02:40:27 AM »
I'd hate to risk bumping an old topic, but as this is one of the pirate games I feel a certain affection for, I had to try and help solve your problems.

I had the same troubles as most of you here awhile back, I tried to load the ROM, beat the first level and then it hung up; black screen, music kept playing. I looked around everywhere for a working ROM but to no avail.

However, when I moved into my new flat, got a new computer, internet connection, blahblahblah, I looked for a complete ROMset (turns out it wasn't complete but whatever) and it had a bunch of unlicensed games included -- one of these was Mulan, so I gave it a try and, surprise surprise, it worked!

Here's a link to the file, which I've put up on my 4Sync account: Mulan (Unl) [!].bin

I don't know how it'll fair on every emulators and such, but on Fusion 3.64 it works perfectly. :)

I hope this, at least, manages to help some of you out.  ^_^

Okay, I think I might've done a fail, I just stumbled into the dumps section and apparently a working copy of the game has already been put up. I dun goofed.  >_< Apologies, guys.

As it's not my birthday anymore I'll just say one more thing here till the next birthday arrives:

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone, you've been great and although I've only been here a very short time, it's been a blast! :yay:

In a way, for me, being here's kind of like coming home after a long journey and finally finding that your place was exactly where you started, if that isn't too schmaltzy to say. You're all kickass and deserve many awesomecakes.  :thumb:

And don't feel bad about it, taizou, it's not as if this thread sticks out too much. It's right at the bottom of the page even when it's active. :) I'm sure I'll be just as forgetful, but we all try, amirite?  :3
