I'm using 3.64. Maybe if I try 3.63....

EDIT: NVM, I just had to edit the russian out of the filename.

Hmm, KEGA fusion won't run the marioes at all, but ben 10 works fine in it.

Is there any FCEU-MMs to genesis emulation that are better with pirate mappers or something like that?

Pirated Work / "Tribute" To Lion King (chiki chiki dog)?
« on: June 10, 2012, 02:51:22 AM »
So upon checking out the newer dumps I noticed Lion King (chiki chiki dog, hack of Wacky Races) above the others, and laughed my ass off at the fact that the pirates drew simba with a cleft chin. I've donned this character "Chinba". Additionally, they've replaced the "BOW" barking projectile attack from wacky races with what appear to be strands of hair Chinba breathes.

This animation was created out of absolute boredom as tribute(?) to the "unique" look and abilities simba was given in this pirate.

The Big Old Arcade / Computer Games you used to play when you were a kid

As far as games on a computer, when I was young I played:

Mechwarrior 2
Jump Start 4th Grade Adventures or something (the one with all the egyptian/cairo stuff)
Math/Word Munchers
Oni
Serious Sam
Kidzone (just a bunch of slider puzzles and junk that came with windows 95)
Reader Rabbit I and II (I looked so freaking dated even back then XD)

That's the version I have; as far as I'm aware, that's the only version that's been released if you don't count repros. Also, from what I've noticed all pirate Mega Drive carts either use the Japanese design, or the Western one with a tab cut into it.[/quote]Ah, good to know. I'll have to take a look at it next time to ensure the design isn't different from the repro one and possibly demo it in the store even if I don't get it (said gamestore lets you try out any of the games on real hardware)

Saw a copy of Bubble Bobble MD that somehow ended up in my local used game store. Not sure if I'll get it, and I'm not sure of how much they think it's worth yet, but I'll ask next time, if only for fun. The cart is standalone and the art looks different than some of the copies I've seen online, but seeing as the only other bubble bobble series game that actually came out on genesis was a licensed port of rainbow islands in japan only, I sincerely doubt it could be anything else. Do believe it said "SUPER BUBBLE BOBBLE MD" on the cart itself, though.

Looks a bit like this version, perhaps it is: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n223/mrmark0673/Genesis%20Reproductions/DSC00590.jpg

EDIT: Looking at that URL, that cart art is a reproduction. was this art used in the original too and not just repros, or is this one http://www.segagagadomain.com/megadrive4/superbubble-cart.jpg the only known cart art for the original?

I've heard of these. While they've got modern processors in them, they're still crazy expensive and even nostalgia can't help burn a hole in one's wallet that large unless it's such a huge trip that it's absolutely necessary.

I compose music of all types, but for the most part I do a lot of "with lyrics" songs ala brentalfloss (who I actually talk to now and again about that kind of stuff) and game remixes, as well as a few jazz originals here and there.
My stuff can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/user/recorderdude

I'm also a member of sonic paradox, so if you know of the Sonic Shorts Volumes, look for me in Volume 8 when it comes out :)

Salutations, all. I'm Recorderdude, an animator and musician.

I came here from the bootleggameswiki, a site I frequent often, and was delighted to find it had a forum which I joined immediately.

Of course, this means I absolutely love looking through (And at times playing through) bootleg games of all kinds. Whether it be a hilaribad translation such as the vietnamese pokemon crystal or just an insane mangling and misinterpretation of a classic game, such as Rocman X on the NES or one of the many Yong Yong atrocities on the Gameboy, I give it a look. I wouldn't call myself a masochist, and there's no way I'd be devoted enough to play through any of the truly horrible pirates all the way, but I still enjoy them quite a bit overall.

I don't exactly collect pirates physically, but if I ever see something that's new and unheard of and cheap enough, I'd probably pick it up for a few laughs and post what I see.

So yeah, that's me in a nutshell as related to the forum. I could go on about what I do creatively, but that's for another time, I suppose :) Hope to see lots of cool discoveries in the future!
