Mario World NES/Tagin' Dragon Music?

(1/2) > >>

Doomkid:
Okay. So many of you Im sure know of the game Tagin' Dragon which has absoloutely terrible music on the title screen. The game was made in 1990, according the the copyright notice, which would make it older than the real Super Mario World on the SNES, and thus of course the pirated NES version..  But..

The music on Tagin' Dragon's title screen is a very, very awful version of the ending music in the SMW NES pirate!! I shit you not. Here's a video so you can compare them for yourselves..

It's not until just now that I realized that tune is nowhere to be fround in the Real SMW.. This is very, very weird. Just figured Id point it out :P

Robyn:
Great find  but the Tagin Dragon music is crappier  cool:

Pepper-98:
I'm guessing that they had the same composer.  Both companies are in Taiwan, this composer wouldn't be the first to write for several different companies, and there are bootlegs that either remix or write new songs for bootleg ports, so I guess the guy re-used an old song from his Sachen days.  Speaking of which, I know Yishen Liao re-used some songs for both Monopoly Madness (Vast Fame, GBC) and Pocket Monsters 2 (DVS Electronic?, MD).

Atomikku123:
This game was made by Sachen. Hummer Cheng said in an interview he worked in Sachen prior to Hummer Team, thus we have it in SMW

Eadwine:
Hummer Cheng worked for Sachen for a while. Must say, that track slipped past me as not being from the original game since it had been a while since I played it when I was playing the bootleg version. It sounds "vaguely Mario-ish" enough that I was just like "yeah, that's what the ending music to Super Mario World was, right?"
