Title: New pirate spotted?
Post by: recorderdude on February 19, 2014, 10:43:59 PM
So on my usual ebay browses I spotted something rather unusual:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-15-Untested-Nintendo-Game-Boy-Games-AS-IS-/141197600617?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item20e0086769 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-15-Untested-Nintendo-Game-Boy-Games-AS-IS-/141197600617?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item20e0086769)

Take a look at the cartridge on the middle-left. Not only does it have the infamous "GAME" title on the cart itself, but the label is obviously a pirated GBC label, with a very poorly affixed "2" next to the pro skater logo, as well as "PRESS START" on the bottom. In place of Tony himself appears a...random Jamaican guy? Could this be a new/undiscovered pirate, or is it most likely just the GBC proskater game in a grey Gameboy cartridge?

If anyone here that can dump games wants to try and grab this lot, let me know. I'll back out entirely and be one less person to bid it up. I don't care about owning the game so much as seeing what's on it and having it dumped if it's something new.

At the very least, a new picture for the PGMuseum.

That copy of Lion King 1 1/2 is fake.

1. RP rating
2. Too bold lettering on rating

Good eye! I didn't even catch that one! I also think the Road Rash GBA Game is a fake due to the chinese letters, but the GBA fakes are probably little more than just copies of the legit cartridges.

That makes at least 3 pirates in this lot. Can we at least confirm the Pokemon is legit?

Anyhoo, since nobody else has jumped on, I'm planning to go for it. I have every type of american GB besides Pocket and SP so the Tony Hawk pirate is bound to run on at least one of them. As long as it doesn't get too crazy pricey, I'll pursue it for the community.

Hopping out of this. Talked to RobGBA a bit and we both agreed it's probably just the GBC tony hawk.

Yeah to be honest it seems more like a generic, but I can't be too sure. :\

The Pokemon Sapphire One I goggled in some sites and...
I searched and maked a comparision of the original and this catridge and i think its pirated
its different
Down - Original
Up - This
No GameBoy Up in the catridge.
The Code is down right of the catridge not up-right
And Pokemon Company is in the left corner the original is in the right corner
Its just i think if i'm wrong tell me  :thumb:

spotted yet another pirate. Probably another GBC-to-GB, but this is the first time I've seen one in a red cartrige.
