I just realised something, that song in Fish War sounds suspiciously similar to some of Nice Code's games. (The ones Waixing released, that is)
Yeah it does kind of sound like the music from those.. and the other Waixing famiclone games from a mysterious source for that matter. Theres definitely connections going on between Waixing and Inventor, and Inventor and Nice Code too - i guess it's quite possible that whoever composed the music for Fish War (assuming BBG is Inventor anyway) ended up working for Waixing or Nice Code and redoing the music in some of those games.
Or come to think of it, since it's on a Waixing multicart maybe Waixing themselves redid the music in Fish War for some reason.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

BBG themselves did that Skiing hack, and that has different music to Rad Racer and the other hacks of it. Personally, I'm wondering how Waixing got it seeing as it wasn't dumped until now.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

I don't know if anyone noticed but uh...Super Popo Adventure uses the same engine and music as Pocket Monsters and Panda World. :pandaaway:
Cheetahmen actually mentions that in his YouTube review of the cart.
On a related note, I'm wondering whether Super Popo Adventure actually predates Pocket Monsters and Panda World. It seems like a more complex game (it actually involves a fetch quest rather than just getting to the end of the level)... and unlike the other two games, it uses the PC Paint fonts that are practically a trademark of Gamtec.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

It seems like a more complex game (it actually involves a fetch quest rather than just getting to the end of the level)... and unlike the other two games, it uses the PC Paint fonts that are practically a trademark of Gamtec.
Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure all of them are made by the same company. Most hacks basically change a few graphics and nothing more, whereas all three of these have different levels a few differences in gameplay. Then again, the latter two mostly steal graphics from other games whereas Super PoPo apparently doesn't.
BTW, here (http://www.mediafire.com/?jc4j5k4pkr5k844)'s a seperate ROM dump of Super PoPo. :) From looking at the graphics, it seems as though there's a menu built into the ROM that's been disabled. Also, if I remember correctly KingPepe said that the ending is just a "The end" screen but I think the graphics at 0002B000 suggest that there's supposed to be a proper ending. Oh, and there's a Teletubbies logo in there that I don't think is actually used.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

(http://i.imgur.com/JePTp.png)- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: taizou on August 31, 2011, 03:10:03 PM- Yeah, from the looks of things the Teletubbies logo was supposed to go on the title screen but it's not displayed for some reason. I remember back in the late 90s there was a *lot* of fake Teletubbies stuff knocking around and the BBC tried to crack down on it, maybe Gamtec removed the logo to avoid any trouble?
The other games using that engine don't actually use the official titles of the stuff they're based on either - Pocket Monster is called Pocket Monster rather than Pokemon or Pikachu or anything (Pocket Monsters was official in Japan but nowhere else, and I doubt they were intending to sell the game in Japan), and Panda World doesn't use the name "Tarepanda" anywhere.
That might account for why it's called "Super PoPo's Adventure" not "Super Po's Adventure" come to think of it.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: taizou on September 01, 2011, 09:54:58 AM- yeah, I have no idea about that.. maybe Gamtec originally made it for Waixing but they either didn't release it or only released it in small quantities for some reason? Or maybe it got a very limited release in China and Waixing just happened to find a copy somewhere.

Post by: Ninja-Kun on September 02, 2011, 11:45:40 AM- A similar problems happens starting around level 6 of Orchard Kavass: the score glitches and a couple of garbled graphics show up at the bottom of the screen. I don't know if there's any relation.

- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: taizou on September 03, 2011, 08:26:35 AM- the score being cut off is kind of an emulator issue. run it in PAL mode and you'll see the graphics but it might cause other problems - PAL mode in FCEU replicates the real PAL NES, not "clone PAL" which these games were probably designed for, clone PAL is just an NTSC Famiclone chipset slowed down to 50hz whereas the real PAL NES has a few timing differences and stuff.

Post by: codeman38 on October 18, 2011, 08:18:50 PM- Not at all surprisingly, there's an ABABSoft logo at 0x12F010 in the 15-in-1 ROM.
Edit: And it's right above the War/Contra Force/Guevara/Golden Axe menu.
Edit #2: And that 4-in-1 cartridge is listed on ABABSoft's archived site (http://web.archive.org/web/20050205184448/http://ababsoft.com/index1.html), of course.
There's another menu hidden in there that has Titenic, RoboCop, and... The Avengers. The actual cart listed on ABAB's site replaces the latter with Ghostbusters II, which makes a lot more sense, given that the Avengers movie only comes out this year.

- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: taizou on January 10, 2012, 09:52:52 PM- Hmm. I wonder if Nestopia is more accurate (to clone hardware) and the makers of the cart used a less-accurate emulator like FCEU? Then it would have looked ok to them but glitched on real clones - presumably they compiled it using an emulator and didn't bother to test all 245 games on hardware.
Or maybe it's the other way around, and both Cheetahmen's clone and Nestopia suffer from the same inaccuracy... But then what's "accurate" when you're talking about a cart that only runs on clones in the first place?

Great, now we've got a dump of War of Strike Mouse! Hopefully it won't be long before a working dump of the Games Xplosion or DreamGear 101-in-1 sees the light of day. He dumped the Games Xplosion, but it seems to be using some custom PPU mapper because the graphics are all screwy. I have the ROM, if anyone's interested.
Yeah, I'd be interested in that - even without graphics it'll be kinda interesting to boot the games up and poke through the PRG and stuff. Incidentally the glitched games on the D-Cat (mostly vertically scrolling games like Ice Climber - wrong mirroring?) and the non-working Happy Birthday thing in Mini Movies on the 30 in 1 are both broken on real hardware, its not an emulation issue.
also I told you guys Panda Adventure's title screen is a different colour on these things :D- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

Post by: taizou on February 08, 2012, 04:15:23 PM- well I've been having a look through these with a tile editor - there are graphics in the 50 in 1 for Inventor games that arent used, Power Boat and Skiing.. and right at the end there are 1943 graphics for some reason. Also the Finger DDR graphics are included partially up by Space Shuttle, then in full near the end. they're even there with Space Shuttle in the 60 in 1.
The 30 in 1 has two de-pokemonified games from Union Bond's Pokemon 4 in 1 - Pet Dance and Pet Slot - but the rest of the multi (its graphics at least) is hidden in there, Pica Click was renamed "Pet Click" and Pacman was renamed "Bean". Quiz has an unused title screen reading "The Way To Millionair" and what looks like a 2001 copyright.. and I'm not sure what the games are around 320000 & 336000.
and in the 101 in 1, theres yet another unused Inventor game, another Rad Racer hack from the looks of things. I guess one of the motorbike ones.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

Not to argue, but if we're talking about fighting games or whatever TAS strives mainly for entertainment and not speed, that's the term I use.
You're right. Tool-assisted speedruns and legit speedruns are totally different. The latter shows the player's abilities to beat a game as fast as possible, and the former is just for the viewer's entertainment. I think those people who say negative things about TAS playthroughs don't bother to read the full description, because they think that both things are the same. Or they can read it, but they're against emulation.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: codeman38 on February 08, 2012, 08:46:22 PM- I'm almost certain that Underground Mission (on the Power Joy Navigator) is Inventor's work. Despite not using the famous sampled bass, it still sounds very...Sunsoft-y.

Post by: taizou on February 08, 2012, 10:06:19 PM- All their original games seem to have that Shanghai Paradise logo hidden in them, no matter how much they've been hacked up, converted to VT03 or otherwise messed around with by various other companies.. I wonder how many were actually released on cart with the logo intact and still displayed? The only one I've ever seen was a Super Hang-On '97 on the (now defunct) Famicom no Tobira, the dumped version has it mostly removed AFAIK.

Post by: taizou on February 09, 2012, 10:12:10 PM- Underground Mission seems to be unfinished - in level 10 there's an item stuck in the wall meaning you can't complete the level. If you cheat and collect it anyway, there are 6 (I think) more levels after it, all mostly functional but exhibiting varying degrees of brokenness. Strangely enough it does have a fully working ending screen though:
oh yeah, and the Chinese on the level intro screen reads 地道战, Di Dao Zhan. Presumably this was (or would have been) the Chinese name of the game - Waixing released something with the same name but it's completely different.
and on the subject of Inventor games, Power Boat has no apparent ending, it just loops back to stage 1.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

Post by: codeman38 on February 12, 2012, 02:46:04 AM- I'm still curious about one particular thing in Jungle Adventure, incidentally: the background music is totally "The Pits" from Boogerman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Yo69A2ONg0&feature=related), as (apparently) remade by an ex-Sachen developer. (
Doesn't sound like the version from Rex's port, and it's definitely not Super Game's.) Does this mean that the ex-Sachen team made a Boogerman port that nobody knows about?
Edit: Hm, even weirder, it is very similar in arrangement to the version of the same tune from Rex Soft's version. (The NSF is in the 08-20-2010 pack on Gil Galad's 'news' page, for the curious.) But not quite identical-- the percussion is different in some parts. And much glitchier; it starts out with an accompaniment line out of phase entirely. Maybe a beta version by one of Rex's devs? ::shrugs:: Still doesn't explain the connection between Rex Soft and the ex-Sachen folks.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

just curious, how did you get the Pet 4 in 1 working? I tried ripping Mini Movies from the 30 in 1 and it didn't work, presumably for the same reason.
Well, Pokemon 4 in 1 is MMC3 so I basically took the code from the end of that and stuck it in the Pet 4 in 1. As for the other games, I don't think they're hacks of anything so you're out of luck making seperate ROMs for them. That is, unless you can figure out what mapper they are.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: g0me3 on February 14, 2012, 05:08:49 AM- Supermax Power Joy Consoles are different from the generic OneBus only in one thing: registers 4107 and 4108 are swapped, so MMC3 games hacked too, MMC3 commands 6 and 7 are swapped either... Some games are heavily stuffed with bank switching commands (wonder rabbit for example), so they are heavily hacked too...

also bombs are at 0041 and health at 003F if you need more of that.

BTW... WHEN will there be new interesting dumps? I'm very sick of those FDS conversions and translations of official games :\- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

Post by: Barver on September 26, 2012, 03:52:16 PM- I think he means it's so expensive that no one wants to dump it and then just give it away for free =p Perhaps in ten years the value will go down and it won't matter than if the ROM is available.
Though one way to get the value to go down to begin with is a ROM begin available heh. I'm still perplexed as to why this pirate's worth so much. Seems like a pretty dumb one that's only got such a name for it because it's a "porn" game(doubt it really has that much in it) with a mispelling of Mario's name. Boring IMO.- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
Post by: KingPepe on September 26, 2012, 04:01:38 PM- I think it's just worth so much due to it's rarity and how Nintendo pulled it off the shelves really.

"I think it's just worth so much due to it's rarity and how Nintendo pulled it off the shelves really."
actually it's because of being the first unlicensed famicom game
hey i did have a copy of this until just a few days ago. it was a really nice surprise because i thought i threw it out but i found it collecting dust in a box! i sold it to a japanese collector. also youre not alone lues42, i know someone from another forum who asked him (cah4e3) about buying some pirates, then when he mentioned super maruo cah4e3 completely shut down, never responded after that. gotta love that hoarder mentality eh?
now i just gotta find that old nwc cart i had....

Post by: Pepper-98 on September 27, 2012, 12:58:39 PM- Well, it's about as much fun as most adult games, and by that I mean it's not fun at all. Also love how much adult games like this go for. I saw the price of the copy Picrodus posted and that seems really high, like even for the "first" unlicensed game ever made. Yeesh.

But seriously, I'd rather pay for the common pirates then this piece of overpriced BS. x3
I played it, it was dull and...well..."ze sexies" were unrewarding as all hell. I'd rather play Honey Peach from Sachen. At least that had Rock-Paper-Scissors and some pretty epic tunage...
oh, and porn but eh. =3- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

oh, and porn but eh. =3
I kinda prefer this game gameplay-wise over Honey Peach, if only because it actually takes skill to win at Super Maruo, rather than piss poor luck. And funilly enough, your description of the game summarizes nearly all adult games in general. ;)- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps

Post by: Doomkid on September 28, 2012, 01:30:17 PM- Super Maruo.. I just saw this cart on eBay as well for over $100. Stupid price for a stupid game, I managed to find Master Fighter 2 and Street Fighter III for cheap on ebay a while back, it cost wasy less and was far more worth it.. At least it's cool to have an 8 bit backport. Everyone else has already said it, but these 'adult' NES games are completely laughable. Honestly the best I've seen are the anime chicks in AV Girl Fighting when you win a round.. The old man ragtime music made me laugh my ass off when I first heard it ages ago...

I dunno, I guess I'm just too impatient to try and put any effort into a game where the only reward is very poorly drawn and primitive smut. Still, I suppose you're right: this game does require some skill. Doesn't make it any better though. xD- Title: CaH4e3's Dumps
