Hacker Center / BB Car Hack

You mean that Mario & Luigi DOS Remake hack? Yep, I made that as well. That was my only contribution to SMW Central.

Hacker Center / BB Car Hack

Nah, I'm not that cruel. :P

Anyways a few edits:

*Made the flag that awards a 2x bonus a "Special" flag. (it's the ninth flag in the CHR)
*Edited the smokescreen a bit.
*Made the edges of the walls thinner.

Hacker Center / BB Car Hack
« on: December 04, 2014, 04:52:25 PM »
This is a ROM hack of the infamous Famicom Rally-X clone "BB Car" by Hwang Shinwei. It aims to polish up the game's graphic CHRs so it bears a closer resemblance to Rally X.

Changelist:
*Different Car graphics
*No unique Smokescreen graphics, since Rally-X only had one across every level.
*Improved "BANG" explosion, Rock, and Level Boundaries graphics.
*Tweaked the palette for the inside stage walls.

Get it here.

Other Pirates / Jungletac handy max 15-in-1
« on: August 01, 2014, 01:13:26 AM »
Dunno if this is relevant, but I have a Jungletac console that I bought long ago in 2005 that had 50 games in it. Very much every one used the same old Konami sound chip. The only real memorable games it had were Elfland and Fire Fighter, but I do remember it having Ultra Doggy just like the Handy Max (although the title screen in the 50-in-1 was a bit more dull; there was no copyright info and the only setting on the menu was "Start"). The 50-in-1 also had Jewel Master, Move Fun and Space Castle, and they had the same abridged title screen as Ultra Doggy.

I noticed from the screens that Block Shock and Omega Zone are extensive hacks of Arkanoid and Galaga respectively; Heck I'm sure perhaps just like that "Scoring" game that was in the same multicart that had Super Shrek Bros; Block Shock has the exact same CHR data as Arkanoid does, so even if these were dumped and unplayable in an emulator for whatever reason, I could still access the CHR via YY-CHR as long as it's recognizable; and replace the CHR's of Arkanoid and Galaga with those of the Jungletac hacks.

Famicom/NES dumps / What is this?
« on: July 27, 2014, 07:51:21 PM »
Unless it's some sort of ROM hack that takes Gremlins 2 and replaces every instance of a Gremlin with a Smurf, I wouldn't be interested.

Of course no pirate game company I've heard of is talented enough to pull that off, at least ones form back then.

Other Pirates / Puyo Puyo English "Bootleg" for the arcades
« on: May 23, 2014, 10:29:49 AM »
Considering that Genesis/Mega Drive games can't really scale and rotate sprites the same way the SNES could, that could be why it appears to be laggy.

Sad that with even how big the Japanese fanbase is, no one in Japan as far as I know has ever bothered finding or dumping the ROM. I've tried every search possible in Japanese with no luck.

Emo Cheng looks to be an interesting game. It looks like a Game Boy version of the Famicom Game Getsu Fuuma Den.

Unsure if this may be relevant, but someday I'm hoping the Puyo Puyo "Sample Rom" gets found and dumped someday. I'd really like to see how it plays with six colors instead of five.

Famicom/NES / Super Shrek Bros and Scoring roms converted

I wouldn't really say that Teletubnies hack is any good. It's actually very low-quality, with the player sprites being the only things altered, and they're poorly made. P2's Tubby actually looks more well suited with the sprite than P1's, but even with that it's still crud.
Ah well, here's to hoping we get Scoring (complete with any palette edits) and Elf-Land dumped someday.

Does Scoring by any chance use a custom palette?

Game Boy dumps / Water Margin animal (rare vast fame)

I'm going to provide some information which will hopefully help in later parts of the game:

*Certain "Gift Beasts" that you earn have abilities in the overworld; the rock Beast can smash boulders and the long, water-themed blue dragon Beast can travel over water. However somehow I was able to make the Beast cancel one or two of it's abilities in the overworld, causing me to get stuck. There's also a Beast that enables 2x movement speed in the overworld, which could help on many occasions, especially this timed area in the desert area where you need this Beast to win.

This game also has it's share of Boss Beasts not shown in that grid, the first one appearing right after the timed section I just mentioned. It's at Level 99 and you have to lose against it to continue the story.

This is also mostly personal preference, but I found the sword-wielding ghost Beast from the fifth row and first column really helpful. Shame there's not a full English walkthrough like with Shi Kong, it'd be so helpful incase I decide to do a second playthrough for the sake of sprite ripping or something.

I actually successfully dumped the game with its palettes a while ago. https://app.box.com/s/94z1n9t04r29u1xwnhc1 heres the link to it. I also dumped quite a lot of Multicart hacks into sep roms. As for Scoring, I could help you with that.[/quote]This would help me so much; thanks!

I'm interested in seeing how the dumped version of Scoring would look compared to the transferred CHR version.

Since we're on the topic of dumping ROMs from multicarts, could anything be done to make Elf Land into a single cart? I loved playing it on this plug&play console from 2005 or so and I'd be pleased to play it again.

Famicom/NES / Super Shrek Bros and Scoring roms converted

A while back I downloaded a 100-in-1 multicart ROM which doesn't work on my main emulator of choice (NEStopia's Mac OS X version). It included two graphic hacks of Super Mario Bros and Arkanoid, titled Super Shrek Bros and Scoring respectively. I then went into YY-CHR, grabbed the graphics from the multicart, and pasted them into vanilla ROMS of Super Mario Bros and Arkanoid, resulting in single ROMS of both games.

The only drawback is that they do not include the palettes (I'm not skilled at palette editing in NES ROMS), but otherwise everything else is there.
