Title: Sports Game 69 in 1
Post by: taizou on October 22, 2011, 09:38:21 AM
cah4e3 dumped this from my cart, but he isn't releasing it on his site because the VT03 games don't work (even in EmuVT):

http://www.mediafire.com/?x93f3w8khlrtvu7 (http://www.mediafire.com/?x93f3w8khlrtvu7) (BIN)
http://www.mediafire.com/?g8sm6zi3a61pgcn (http://www.mediafire.com/?g8sm6zi3a61pgcn) (NES)

It's from a cart packed with a Wii clone by Qi Sheng Long, the WiWi (87 games version) aka EZi aka other things, a mix of VT03 and standard NES games by Nice Code. so. enjoy!(?)

I'm still wondering what the heck that logo actually belongs to; I've seen it in several Nice Code plug-n-plays, with no further identification of the company any time it's shown.

The letters in that particular sprite are much more clearly "TWLS" (I'd thought it was perhaps "TWCS" or "TWTS" in the past), but I still haven't the slightest clue what that actually stands for.
Also, taizou, your links are labeled backwards. The "NES" one is the BIN, and vice versa.

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that the T (and possibly the W) stands for Taiwan.

The only one I've actually seen with it on-screen is the Games Xplosion and I'm pretty sure it was left in there by accident. (my 151 in 1 has several games with a Power Joy Ltd copyright, despite not being made by Trump Grand - Nice Code presumably just didn't bother to remove it)

whoops! fixed that.

And I would not be surprised at all to find out TWLS is some sort of distributor logo. There are plenty of hidden sprites spelling out "POWER JOY" in this ROM as well, despite the fact that Trump Grand had nothing at all to do with it. So yeah...

Geez... This rom is not working with NEStopia. Should I use FCEU Ultra for this rom?
Yes, obviously. BTW, there are modified versions of Nestopia and VirtuaNES on the NESBBS forum. Their latest versions now support some new (2011) mappers from CaH4e3's FCEU mod, including special mapper modifications for the support of non-VT03 "WXN" ROMS by Subor AKA Waixing.

For real? contra related dumps soon?, all i really want is a way to play Desert Storm lol.
Yeah it's possible to have a way to get Desert Storm to work, but it needs advanced mapper hacking. CaH4e3, maxzhou88 or Byemu might know how to do this on the OneBus UNIF mapper, go contact to them via E-mail if you can.

I hope this doesn't count as a bump D:
But anyways, even in EMUVT,the Graphics are bugged up on a few almost every game.
Am I doing something wrong in the settings?

No, I think CaH4e3 has to alter the mapper somewhat for the VT03 games to work properly.

I'm guessing that's not a simple task...? Or maybe it's more complicated than that.

I'm guessing that's not a simple task...? Or maybe it's more complicated than that.
It's not too complicated, because CaH4e3 has extreme knowledge about strange mappers... I think you must simply contact him in the appropiate moment and then wait for his response.

And regarding your reply to the PM, I'll send you the pack tomorrow. I just don't have the necessary time to do that task.

Yes, I can wait until tomorow. I have followed up on my PM with a small detail I forgot to mention.

For real? contra related dumps soon?, all i really want is a way to play Desert Storm lol.
I have played "Desert Storm" before (on my Sodoku 49 in 1), and to be honest, it's not too special. It's just a hack of what seems like "Super Contra 7" (because some of the enemies from that game are in it) that happens to have VT03 graphics.

Post by: iniche on June 20, 2012, 01:54:27 PM
It is not at all a hack of Super Contra 7. Sure, it's not too special (controls suck and bad enemy placement), but it's a "new" Contra game. Also, last I checked none of the enemies are from Super Contra 7, though very likely many tiles are shared between the two.

But I can't actually play it because it doesn't display graphics properly on the OneBus mapper.  :\

Oh no, dammit! Not that music again!!! Could they at least stick to "Three Blind Mice" or something else but not that crap?

But on a more serious note, I'd actually like to see OneBus emulation improved for this cart alone.

Oh and also twis is mainly credited for restoring rom hacks. Not making new stuff.
