Famicom version of Shui Hu Shen Shou.
« on: February 11, 2012, 06:45:31 PM »
It seems that there's a famicom version of Shui Hu Shen Shou as well as the GBC version. There's quite a few of them for sale on Taobao. There's also two different cartridge designs.

Game box and cartridge (also a leaflet?)
Alternate cartridge design

Moved to the Famicom section. ;)

Anyway, I think this version was developed by Shenzhen Nanjing, and it's apparently awful when compared to the original.

Thanks for the move! I wonder if it's the same as the NES port? I'm not sure whether it might just be the same one ported to the famicom. I've only ever heard of the NES port, so I thought it might be a different one.

Well, the only version I've heard of is the Game Boy Color version, and that was by V.Fame so I'd assume it's a lot better than the Famicom port.

There's a SNES port?
I think there are two Famicom versions though, one by Waixing and one by Nanjing. The Nanjing version is dumped but the pics are both from the Waixing release.
edit: actually, the first auction has the box from the Waixing version but the cart/manual from Nanjing's. hmm.

I've seen the Waixing game on Taobao a couple of times, and some of the auctions show a screenshot of the title, which is a poor recreation of the GBC version's title screen.  I've been wanting to get it for a while, but I kept forgetting about it for more important stuff.  Sadly, those images haven't been showing up on Taobao recently, and I don't think I saved the image. :(

There's a SNES port?[/quote]Sorry, I actually meant NES >_< I only noticed my mistake just now. According to this Russian site there are 2 or 3 versions of the NES Shui Hu Shen Shou as well.

Shenzhen Nanjing, the guys who made that NES version, have a habit of re-releasing their games multiple times.  I know there's like three releases of their Final Fantasy Legends 3 port.

This is very interesting. Hope it gets dumped very soon, so I'll achieve its ending.

Also, in the cartridge label, it says NJ019. So it was developed by SNT.

Nanjing's version is already dumped, Waixing's is the one that isn't. Search for "Shui Hu Shen Shou (NJ019)" and you'll find it pretty easily.
