They were all linked to Gamtec in some way so they probably shared staff/resources at times, at least when they were both in Taichung.. something similar seemed to be going on with Chuanpu and Gamtec on the Mega Drive. I personally doubt any Vast Fame people went with Sintax to China though - it seems like a lot of their games post-BBD were just variations on the BBD stuff, so they probably didn't have many developers on staff at all until a bit later on (2004-5ish?) when I guess they got a new team together.
I feel that the wiki is wrong, and that Sintax did their operations in China first.

Or another thought is that they outsourced some stuff to China, while remaining based in Taichung.  Because I know for a fact that their later stuff was done, while the company was based in Taichung.

I personally find it interesting that around the time Vast Fame was getting out of the Gameboy industry, Sintax was moving into the Gameboy industry, with a brief overlap period. The overlap period would be when Sintax used stuff programmed by the mysterious BBD folks. Then they moved to Taichung from China to continue operations, and grabbed parts of the Vast Fame team, to continue churning out games.  Just some of the thoughts that have been rolling around in my head.

http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21303243027704 - 8-in-1 with Happy Biqi (Multicart version) and Nice Code stuff
He also has one more in that series:

http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21303136751585

These games originally came boxed, and were released by a clone company, Ansang.   There are atleast four titles in the series, which I know about, maybe more are out there.

Also, it seems a bit ironic to me that you would mention that 8-in-1 cart wth Happy Biqi on it, within the very day someone on here had purchased one of them.  Seems a bit uncanny, especially since the guy had been listing this 8-in-1 for months.  You wouldn't be stalking some member's purchases / bids, would you?  Just curious is all, but if not, seems like a really weird coincidence.

Bump:  I need these two titles to complete my Gowin collection, well relatively speaking.  Although I would like a boxed copy of either, I am interested in just finding loose copies as well.  Need to be the original versions, not any reprints from another company.

I am not willing to pay 100s of dollars for either of these titles; with that said, if someone here can help me find a copy of either title, I will offer a $10 finders fee per cart. This isn't much, I know, but it is something.  Offer applies until I get these two carts.

if you can buy from taobao its here: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.145.9bS72P&id=18204815149
http://www.yoybuy.com is a decent agent, but for such a low value item you might pay several times its price when you factor in shipping and fees etc.
Or if you like your shit combined with other shit then try this one:

Or this one
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=21432124448
Oh, those things.  *Shudders*  I had one of those at one point, but not now, luckily.  Not sure what games were on it though

Do any of the GB multis contain HK Originals? I'm looking for Super Mario 4 and Sonic 6 especially.
These were all sold, I'm sorry I didn't update the thread :(

To answer your question, yes I have found Mario 4 and Sonic on multicarts before. I can't remember if they were on these carts, but I have found them on some carts/

Paipai is China. There's some proxy sites that do Paipai just like they do Taobao last I remember. Imagine a Google search will lead the way =p
Thanks Barver, good to know :)  If it is still there when I return home from work tonight,  I think I'll grab this one then :)

http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21004239939259 - some Sintax game
But it's sold. :\
Yup, I *think* I have that one, but don't know for sure.  Whoever bought it got a steal though, imo, especially in that condition.

I wonder why there are so many Sintax collectors now, lol.

Yep, the exact titles aren't always what you'll find, but finding a Sintax cart on an auction site isn't as hard as seeing a V.Fame title.
I don't necessarily agree with that one; lately I have been seeing a lot more V.Fame than Sintax.  Oh well.

Sintax games aren't completely rare. There's always a working version to find. :)
I have another title too (forget what it is), and I have two copies and neither of them work.  Grr.  These were all brand new too, so I think that either it is my GB or they are part of a bad batch.  If anyone knows how to fix this sort of thing (maybe the games are just not soldered properly or something), I would gladly send them off to be fixed, and pay a few bucks or whatever it cost for them to be repaired.

Definitely agree with Rob's thoughts that there will most likely always be a working version to find of the Sintax games, even if you have to go through a few dozen duds first.

The games are rare in their own right though, but like any of this mass-produced stuff, there are surely thousands of copies (or whatever the minimal run would be) of this stuff out there.

A CIB copy of Digimon D-4 by SKOB.
Yeah I saw that one too, about a week back, and plan on grabbing it.  I've been trying to get more of the SKOB games lately.

That third listing is just Gluk's custom NES cartridge.  I've seen them plenty of times with their other Brazilian releases like Go Benny and Magic Carpet 1001.
The Gluk Nintendo (NES) releases were marketed primarily in Spain, as well as possibly other parts of Europe.  They were packaged in the funky cartridges, and then also came with boxes, all translated into Spanish.  AFAIK, the games were all just rereleases of unlicensed Famicom games, primarily those made by NTDEC, Micro Genius, and possibly a few other companies (I can't remember at the moment).

DId Gluk ever actually market games to Brazil though?  Or are you perhaps thinking of another company, such as Gradiente, the Brazilian pirate king?

Or retailers didn't feel like printing a new cover. They were likely getting board + cover in the parcel. No reason to pay the cover and not use it.

Many pirates are like that.
Yes, at one point I had heard from someone, who had ended up importing many unlicensed Famicom games into the 1980s.  He said that they just received cases, boards, and labels, as well as a paper, which could then photocopied and placed into a clamshell to make a distinct box.  Also remember speaking to someone else at one point, who had said that purchasing boxes for some of this stuff was optional, but always cost more, thus why many sellers didn't bother.

Guess what I am trying to say is that the bottomline usually came down to cost.  They get a lot of labels that would work, why not just slap them on NES cases even if they look as though they were meant for Famicom?

one more~ http://hhug.me/?post=37
Interesting about the Metal Gear game by Sintax.  I own a cart of this one, and could never get it to run on any of my Game Boys, GB, GBC or GBA.  So I did the logical thing and bought a second copy.  It doesn't play on any of them either.  Am I just getting bad carts (seems possible but a bit strange that it only happens for this one) or is there some sort of special protection that makes it incompatible with many machines?

Bootleg Bazaar / For Trade (OBO): SKOB's game, Milky Way
« on: March 03, 2013, 01:12:26 PM »
I have a Game Boy game from SKOB, a company formerly located in Kaohsiung.  It is titled Milky Way and comes CIB.  It is an RPG of sorts.  I am offering it up for trade or availble for sale at best offer.

For trade, I would gladly do a 1:1 swap, for any of the following (must be boxed, though CIB is best):

-Vast Fame games I do not have
-SKOB games I do not have
-Super Huge Dragon games I do not have
-Sintax games I do not have
-Gowin games I do not have

I would also be willing to trade this one at the exchange rate of 2 loose carts for this.

If anyone is interested in this one, please let me know and send a PM.  This is the first time I have ever seen one of the old SKOB Game Boy games.
