I bet Hummer Team just reused the Mortal Kombat 3 track for Titenic & Harry's Legend and it is absolutely unrelated to any of the Titanic soundtracks. It's been proven multiple time that Hummer Cheng reused various instruments channels or sequences of notes in other unrelated track. it's especially blatant with the Sachen games and the later productions (detailed on the associated wiki pages).

But KOF'98 was released in July 1998? If they did use it as a base for some tracks, that can't sum up.
Also, J.Y. could have ordered both games at nearly the same time but decided to cancel KoF'96 due to the release of Rex Soft The King of Fighters '97. It's hard to say how long it took Hummer to make Final Fight 3 as they may have had the beat'em all engine ready (due to the cancelled Battle of the Red Cliff port) but I don't think it took them much longer than King of Fighters '96. There were a lot of graphics to get done for KoF96 however. The final game was supposed to be larger than 768KiB (probably 1MiB?) but was cut down for Ka Sheng.
What I can see happening is that they started to port it before KoF'98, working with KoF'96 as a base. They would then have done some quick changes (music & gfx) to make it a fair '98 port. But it likely got delayed or cancelled before they could do it properly. The ending clearly states King of Fighters '98. I don't think Hummer Cheng could get the tracks done in a few days either, at least a good week of work for two tracks, done in a rush.

Fascinating. The fact some songs are based on KOF'98 which was released in mid 1998 makes the Hummer port way more recent than one would think. Final Fight 3 was seemingly manufactured around September 1998. KoF'96 containing the unused string LET'S HIT THE STREETS in its code suggests it was build atop (partly) Final Fight 3, or at least a work in progress version. It's also the closing title of the NT-6xxx line which contains more than a hundread of different entries. All from 1997 and 1998. Thus it was likely released at the very end of 1998.

I find it amusing, there are many companies involved but no overlapping numbers so far?!, oh I just saw SB-486… Nevermind. Still curious on the Batong internal software that may be related to Dongda however.

Today it just struck me that the Batong BT-986 II has the same termination number as the Pyramid PEC-586 from Dongda Electronics. Digging further reminded me that that there exists a Batong BT-686 which has not been confirmed so far to be Famicom compatible. The final word is that it actually is, the Famicom slot is hidden in the right slot, at the very front of this space so it's usually not visible in photos. This region also houses two small cartridges. The first attached photo shows the compartment housing the included software cartridges. These are strikingly similar to the ones found in the Dong Da Pyramid PEC-9388 (Sonic REC-9388 in Russia). The second attachement presents two Chinese PEC-9388 cartridges. The shape matches for the most part but the cover area seems smaller, it may or may not have been moulded using a different die. But the ID matches and the asymmetrical design is quite unique on its own to suggest there may have been something going on with these two companies.

This video shows two Batong-Sunsonic consoles. The first, whose exact model cannot be identified, has the two extra slots and a floppy disk drive. The second, identical to the first on a first glance, lacks the drive and the extra slots. The plastic shell used is the same so they covered it with some soft plastic bearing the brand and model number - Sunsonic 686.

I couldn't find many others *86 consoles but the JT-486 exists as well (the Chinese PEC-586 is also shown in this tweet).

I'm not too sure I follow, you mean a script that patches wikia mobile version and add back the mousetext functionality, by showing, for example, a pop-up when the user voluntarily press it with his finger? As I stated, I don't think it's really important for the romanization. It's nitpicking but I felt it was important to mention it, because yes that's a limitation with mobile device, and that's not wikia's fault.

While writing some pages for Sachen games (and especially dealing with a few old, never updated pages) I stumbled upon various way of presenting the same data. I would like to standardize it slightly but I require some inputs as some choice aren't as obvious and should be discussed.

Adding the original name in the infobox header
That's something I've been doing for a while, mostly for games that have the title in non-latin alphabets. Since we wants the top line of the infobox to match the page name, I just add

<br/>*Original name using the original script*Example.
Now, I'm not sure if this is something that should be done for games that have a title screen solely in latin, such as Colorful Dragon.
The plus on adding it: completness, actually represents how it is called in the country of origin.
The downside: a proper title

The mousetext
I'm a bit conflicted about this. At first I thought it was nice but it there are a few notable flaws. The first is that it does not work on mobile phones, it's no big deal since it's usually just to show the romanization and I don't see it really missing with anyone, since nobody copy the romanizations from the mobile version (right!?).
The second issue I have is that there's no clean way of indicating the associated language, hence so in some rare case it may be confusing. Take for example with Mahjong Trap where both the Japanese and Chinese name use Kanjis yet they should be translated differently. The article makes it clear here (but in a rather lousy way). Some pages such as this one use the mousetext functionality and add the romanization used. I find it slightly confusing on my end but it can hide rather long and unecessary parenthesis in the first paragraph too.
The question stands also for games that use foreign script to phonetically (closely) match to the english name. Such as Hacker International (Hakkāintānashonaru), Black Dragon (블랙 드래곤 - Beullaeg deulaegon). For uniformity I want to say yes but in another way, is the romanization appropriate?

Misc
  • For games that were cancelled by a publisher and ended up released by another, I generally add the original intended publisher in <small> below the actual one. Example. Some people may find it confusing however and this fact could stay in the trivia rather than the infobox.
  • Adding <br/> to the alternate names list when they don't fit in the same line. Example

The Sachen page needs a serious clean-up. It should be updated to use tables for the games lists and also I would consider separating Joy Van from the Sachen page for clarity. And maybe even considering making a page for Thin Chen Enterprises? If we have proper things to say on each entities. I'm not too sure on the later but I definitely think we could have distinct Joy Van and Sachen pages, at the very least. I don't mind doing some of the layout but I'm definitely no Sachen expert so I can't do much regarding the games description & related commentaries.
