Title: GBA Contra Force
Post by: iniche on December 31, 2011, 02:37:51 AM
How about this next great mystery:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/GAMEBOY-ADVANCE-CONTRA-FORCE-BOX-no-248-/110801135824?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item19cc4328d0 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/GAMEBOY-ADVANCE-CONTRA-FORCE-BOX-no-248-/110801135824?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item19cc4328d0)

That leaves me with:

Gameboy- Contra 6
Gameboy Advance- Contra Advance 2 and now this (Contra Force)

That's a hack of PocketNES with one ROM included.

Yeah, most GBA bootlegs are PocketNES games.  I saw an auction for Rockman X8 for the GBA and it was just an emulation of Rockman 4.

Greatest box of all time? Possibly.

Oh it's real. Apparently that blurb was copypasta from here (http://www.consoleclassix.com/nes/contra_force.html).

It's always fun to try and find where pirate outfits lift their text from. I have a PS2 silver of Hyper Street Fighter II Turbo whose back cover is lifted straight off an Amazon.com review, and a Metal Slug 3 that does the same thing.

Believe it or not the manual actually refers to the storyline of Contra Force, which is funny since a lot of pirate GBA manuals are just a bunch of cut and paste nonsense that has little or nothing to do with the actual game. I also got in Kirby Red Diamond aka Kirby's Star Red Diamond, it's manual is about 5 sentences of storyline copy that repeats itself for 6 pages.

Edit...Thought something was familiar... see the intro and storyline paragraphs on the page I linked to above? The manual is straight copied from that with a screenshot on each page, even using a screen from both Contra and Super C.
