Wow, I'm sorry, I guess I'm supposed to know your whole back story. Hey everyone, look at this guy, he has other people do all the work for him! WOW!

If you're going to make a post basically coming off like you want someone else's engine so you have half of the work or more already done for you, I don't think it's farfetched that I interpreted it how I did. Saying you have other people do all the work for you doesn't exactly come off as the best defense to what I was saying, either. Why can't they just program something for you, then? I don't see why you need shitty pirate engines. Unless you're having problems keeping your programmers on their leashes.

Who's the pizza analogy for, btw? I guess we're all pizza eaters because god forbid we don't take a stand for retro gaming and try to make our own games. We all must join in the fight, or else we're good for nothing lazy geeks, right?

BTW I recognize you now and I always thought you came off a bit as a dick. This just confirms it.

Dunno what planet you're living on, Pokemon and Digimon on SNES have a shitty engine you can barely control. If you want to make an SNES game, best thing to do is learn whatever ASM programming language the system uses and create your own engine. It sounds like you're under the assumption that just owning the engine means you'll be able to make games easily, but you'll always still need lots of programming knowledge to get anything working right.

Is your main goal behind all of this just to make a shortcut so you can start making "pirate" games yourself? I'd say if you can't bother to try to make your own game with all the SNES resources out there available already, you'd probably be too lazy to even figure out how to utilize any of these engines if you were lucky enough to even acquire them. The engine won't just be a program with a GUI where you insert graphics and press the "make SNES ROM" button.

Hopefully none of that comes off harsh, I'm just trying to get you to see it realistically.

Mega Drive/Genesis / Thunderbolt 2 on Genesis?
« on: May 05, 2013, 08:29:32 PM »
It's a Taiwanese release, nothing official. The NES one you pretty much would have to assume is related I'd think =p

I just sold a boxed copy of this on eBay a couple weeks back. There's one release that has Japanese text, and then the one you see in that auction, which has a box with Chinese. Never have been clear if it was released in Japan, but the JP version makes it feel official. It's definitely an unlicensed game, though.

Game Boy / Kirby and the Amazing Mirror on the Game Boy Color

I've never seen anything Kirby related that's a pirate original. Closest I know of is a supposed Kirby's Super Star port on Genesis, but it's mostly unfounded and never been confirmed so I wouldn't count on it being real.

It's just Kirby's Dream Land 1 or 2. I remember getting confirmation on that once before, think through someone saying so in an auction. Anyway, it's just another case of pirates using boxart as they please. It's not a port of the GBA game, trust me :)

Mega Drive/Genesis / Final Fantasy Cart
« on: April 20, 2013, 06:13:18 PM »
I'm wondering where the Shattered Stone subtitle came from. The only other text on the cart there says "russian version," and I can't find anything in a dictionary that looks similar to those two words to be misread as shattered or stone. Perhaps just a crappy title hack. Or who knows, maybe they ported one of the NES game =p

Hah, I've seen that exact art before. There's also a Famicom pirate using the same thing. One of the piraters probably let their child draw it and made them feel special by mass producing it :P

AFAIK those were dumped from carts that had the protection already removed.

Best to ask a forum for Pokemon hackers or anywhere where this program is in use. Don't think any of us hack that game here.

You own that game? What's it look like? I've never seen any gameplay shots before.

Box says Super Robot Wars 2, seems like a good bet it's just a translation.

I'm not good at finding downloads for stuff =p Plus I don't know Korean at all really, which is what that game is. I notice the site that picture is from has video. Looks like a boring card game so we're not missing much :)

Famicom/NES dumps / CaH4e3's Dumps
« on: April 02, 2013, 01:37:47 AM »
I don't know really, the only memory I have is looking at NES World's pirate section and seeing screenshots that looked like they came from his TV. I definitely remember it being a website, not a magazine.

Sometimes I wonder if I never saw screenshots at all and I just saw that common Kick Master pirate that has The Mask artwork on the label. Has anyone else ever told you they've seen it?

Famicom/NES dumps / CaH4e3's Dumps

The fact he brought maxzhou's name into it makes me feel like there's the possibility maybe he got a working dump he'll release tomorrow like suggested. Feels odd to drag someone else's name into it without them knowing, anyway.

It would help prove a lot if this saw a release. I swear I remember first reading about The Mask on NES World years ago, and even seeing screens. Seeing it on Cah4e3's want list just even more reaffirmed it must exist to me, but the lack of any pictures of any sort after all these years makes me doubt my memory now. What I wonder is where CaH4e3 learned about it from.
