Famicom/NES / Re: VT03 Octopus CHR problem correction
« Last post by GroupNebula563 on Today at 03:25:35 AM »
I could have converted the title screen and the missing graphics from the original if the game had been converted to the standard NES format.
What do you mean by "standard nes format"? You can't just convert a game from VT03 to NES.

Yeah, but I mean if UM5678 cannot be converted, no way that it can be done for VT03 without reprogramming it excessively.
Nevertheless, we managed to port "Commando" and "Curly Monkey" from VT03 to the standard MMC3 format, without resorting to serious reprogramming.
MMC3 is a mapper, the game still needs to run on VT03 hardware (if I’m not mistaken)

I doubt I'll get an answer for this one, but it's been a lingering question for a while. I was wondering if two FDS games - All 1 and Clox, both part of the Famimaga Disk series - could theoretically be converted to standard NES format. I question this as most of the files on the disk appear to only be splash screens and copyright notices; the actual game data is ~24k in size, with 8k CHR for graphics. If the extra notices were removed, could the games be converted to 40k NROM (with 32k PRG/8k CHR)? I can't find much information on how FDS conversions are done, other than that game conversions using only one disk side seem to be more prevalent.

I've attached unmodified extracts of the (non-splash screen) files in a .nes-like structure; naturally they don't work as-is.

Famicom/NES / [Reauest] Change mapper / fix in *.nes roms
« Last post by Online on May 09, 2024, 07:16:44 AM »
Hi all. :)
I decided to create a main topic so that corrected versions of the roms could be posted here.
I need help with two games
1)Pocohontos -  In the conversion of the game Pocahontas from 182 mappers to MMC3. As far as I know, this is MMC3, but with some kind of protection. Can you help me make it on a standard 4 mapper?
2) Dooly Bravo Land - the game starts with artifacts on the splash screen, I only know that most likely it has a Bus conflict and it has a register of $8000. I ask for help - patch the game so that it writes C000 to the required register for correct launch on hardware.
Maybe this 2 fixed and converted games already exist. I would be very grateful if someone would share it. Thank you!

Raw dump of Metal Max by Sintax. The commonly circulated dump is an early build of the game, this is the final version

A long time ago I posted this, but removed it since I wasn't sure I dumped it correctly. Now I'm reposting it. It's Dragon Ball Final Bout for GBC. Developed by BBD and published by SKOB. The raw dump does not work (unless you use save states), but another user user on here who went by dzd (who tragically passed away recently) was able to make a cracked version of it. Something worth mentioning is some emulators display the graphics incorrectly, causing the backgrounds to be whited out. If that happens, just try a different emulator, and see if that fixes the issue
