Qiezei's just posted video of one of his latest acquisitions, Sintax's Metal Slug X.

Compare to the infamously obscure Zook Hero 3 by Sintax, which Sky League has dumped but not released:

Combined with the fact that Metal Slug X uses music from Mega Man 2 (of course they chose the ear-splitting-est one)... yeah, I think this might be yet another of Sintax's sprite hacks of their own games.
Edited to add: Yep, one of the backgrounds is even identical to Sky League's screenshot. Lazy sprite hack ahoy!
On the bright side, though, at least we have a definitive answer to whether Zook Hero 3 is anywhere near as good as VFame's entries in the series. (Namely, "No.")

I think the music in Metal Slug X is slightly slowed down a bit but that may be just me. For Zook Hero 3, I like how it took the cutscenes from Megaman Xtreme and edited them, especially making X red and a visor covering his eyes. Overall, these two games are just... bleh.

The music is slowed down for whatever reason. And enthusiasm in getting Zook Hero 3 (Sintax's version) has now dropped for me.
And on Metal Slug X, it bugs me is that they didn't give you a proper way to look up or down; it's sad how Sintax and even U.S. Gold (with their GG Megaman game) can't add a simple concept like that, but friggin' Yong Yong/Sachen could in Thunder Blast Man.

I'm having contradictions on what game came first. Some of the things in Metal Slug X seem like they'd fit in a Megaman game, and some of it doesn't.

Can someone send a screenshot? Because Sky League's site doesn't have it anymore
