The Community / I'm impressed!
« on: July 13, 2018, 12:51:19 PM »
I've been notified that the forum had successfully moved to the new host and even more that somehow, the whole database had been imported over and I thought that was impossible to do with ZetaBoards (its old host). However Pepe done it, I don't know, but kudos to you pal :D

May the PGC live on forever... or should I say BGC :P

Pirate Talk / The fall of pirate game companies
« on: January 13, 2018, 04:35:38 PM »
I've just been informed by someone that China's pirate game business could now cease to exist when apparently, China is now allowing its own people and businesses to use their own technology and pursue interests outside of their homeland, also given the evolution of technology in itself too, meaning that there's no real reason for them to do what they were infamous of making, from pirate games to weird-looking Famiclones. And other bootleg garbage. Another reason for this is that there is a cultural clash between it and several other countries right now (and I don't know what they are of precisely, probably of political matters). Since this, the people of China have moved on to other places in the world or of having business elsewhere, and thus leading up to the potential demise of them plagiarising stuff and all that. Of course, China doesn't have copyright laws as we all know but, this is the modern era and they've been doing this sort of thing since the 1800s, would you believe.

Even though China is slowly going through that phase and that not many places in the UK, US or elsewhere sell bootleg stuff anymore or have specialised outlets closing down, it's still big business over at Russia, Brazil and Mexico. So with the direction China is taking, is there any need for pirate games anymore?

I know this place has been pretty quiet and this might not be noticed but, I wanted to bring this up to all the people here, and maybe have their say on the subject too.

Discussion Center / Merry Christmas, bootleggers!
« on: December 25, 2017, 07:37:59 AM »
Yep, it's that time of year where we all be merry and all that, whether spending it with friends and family or alone. Hope you all have a good one, and a safe one too if you happen to be out that is ;)

Also, I hope nobody asked Santa for bootleg games, haha.

Discussion Center / How did you find PGC?
« on: December 16, 2017, 05:47:56 PM »
It might be too late to ask this as the forum itself has become quiet but, I'm just wondering of how everyone found this wonderful place. For me, as having been a member here for six years (and I can't believe it's that long), it might've been through a promotion that Pepe made about this place within RXComm. I can't quite remember.

Pirate Talk / Bootleg games you like?
« on: December 05, 2017, 04:47:08 AM »
Okay... we all know that bootleg games are weird shit and all but there are some good ones, if any of you don't believe me. You can either like them if they're special to you in some way or, as a guilty pleasure. To start, I quite liked Kart Fighter for it being Super Mario Kart done as a fighting game even though it does suffer stiff controls and weird music playing going around. Anything from obscure Chinese developer Shenzhen Nanjing can qualify also :)

What's yours, and why?

Discussion Center / Bootleg toys
« on: November 22, 2017, 07:03:00 AM »
If this is a forum dedicated to bootleg games, then I'm going to change things around with something called bootleg toys. Some of us have seen them plastered around the web, or that some of us have been cursed of owning one and our childhoods scarred by them. Let me begin by posting some fine examples that may shock, traumatise or just make you chortle for how lame they are:

Click if you dare...

These will do for now, and I know there will be comments aplenty of these. You are free to post any more that you can find to further make our eyes bleed :P Or, talk about if you had been cursed of owning any of these in your childhood.

Also, though I seem to believe that I never owned a bootleg toy myself, I suspect that this could be it, as I first had it when I was five. It's still there with me, locked away in a drawer as a keepsake :P I suppose that's one of the better-looking ones, as at least I never owned anything with a crappy paintjob or some Russian knockoff of a Mario toy.

Famicom/NES / Help with Gu Mu Li Ying...
« on: March 28, 2012, 04:34:43 AM »
If any of you has heard of this Tomb Raider pirate game from Shenzhen Nanjing called "Gu Mu Li Ying", I would like some tips on it because I'm absolutely stuck at it at the beginning, and watching a short playthough of it on YouTube didn't help because the author of the video spent most of the time pratting around until he is able to go further. I would appreciate it if anyone can help me out on this one... if they can.

Famicom/NES / Jungle Adventure... hack of The Panda Prince?
« on: February 20, 2012, 05:48:13 AM »
When I saw and played the awful pirate game that is Jungle Adventure, it contained things from The Panda Prince even when the main character has been edited into a brown bear. Kage told me that it's not a hack of said game but I would like proof whether this is a heavily-hacked version of it or is it a new game made from scratch but using things from it.

Famicom/NES / Impartial Judge hack of Myth Struggle... proof?
« on: February 11, 2012, 08:41:40 AM »
I've been told by Kage that Impartial Judge is a major hack of Myth Struggle, and it's really hard to believe as the two games look so much different to each other (well, apart from the identical fighting engine). So, can anyone show any proof that the game is indeed a hack of Myth Struggle?

The Community / New skin?
« on: January 21, 2012, 09:58:30 AM »
I think it'd be good if this forum has a new skin because to be honest, I really don't like this one at all. It's too dark for my tastes and I don't like seeing my reflection on this laptop's screen whenever I view a website with black backgrounds and such. If this can be done, that'd be great.

Super Famicom/SNES / Anyone know of this SNES pirate game?
« on: January 13, 2012, 06:01:16 AM »
A person on YouTube named Spulpacz told me about the name of this SNES pirate game that is a side-scroller where it features a baby that threw boomerangs and is set in prehistoric times. He's not sure if it's called Bubba so I'm wondering if any of you know more of the game which I am asking you all on his behalf. For myself. I've not even heard of it.

Game Boy / More GBS rips?
« on: December 22, 2011, 02:15:35 PM »
As there's a GBS rip of Rockman DX3, I wonder if there'll be GBS rips of Shi Kong Xing Shou and Soul Falchion, and maybe a few other of Vast Fame's games too. Of course, GBS rips of Yong Yong's games won't be ideal for obvious reasons :P

The Community / The Most Users Online record has broke

Pirate Talk / Cah4e3's site is down
« on: November 16, 2011, 04:45:26 AM »
Just to let everyone know, cah4e3's website is down for unknown reasons. One person on YouTube told me of this just there and I hope it's only down for a short while. If you don't believe me, just go on his and see a page mentioning a whois and such. I know Cah4e3 himself is on this forum so maybe he can tell us the reason.

The Community / PGC Forums Facebook page?
« on: November 05, 2011, 08:13:52 AM »
As I've created a Facebook page of my forum, I wonder if the same can be done here. Although, I'm not sure if KingPepe has a Facebook account to do this unless SpaceNinja can do it. Not only would this page be useful for an advertising method but also to keep everyone up to date with new ROM dumps and such. So, anyone like this idea?
