Title: Digimon Sapphire Glitch.
Post by: Smedis2 on August 27, 2011, 12:08:34 PM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCYtU7w_E4M (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCYtU7w_E4M) this video is footage of what happened.
In case your wondering, the game's credits roll as soon as you beat a level on my PSP GBA emulator.
It's not only a weird bug,but it proves that the credits still exist in the rom, even though it doesn't show when you beat the game.
Anyone else find this interesting?

(And FYI,When you beat the game on the rom,it sends you to an inescapeable version of the final boss' area.)

There's some really weird stuff going on with this rom. On my cart it crashes when you beat a level and has no ending, on Qiezei's it works fine and has an ending, on VBA it goes to the next level and has no ending, on the PSP emu you get the credits after *every level*... wtf. Maybe it's down to an incomplete/broken attempt at hacking out the copy protection?

On real hardware it does the same as the PSP emulator; at the end of a level it shows the credits and returns to the title screen. If you select "continue" it picks back up at the next level.

Forget that last statement. It either glitches like the PSP  emulator or works correctly, just depending on your type of flash cartridge. Haven't played it all the way through to look at the ending though.

is that on a flash cart? or do you actually own a copy?

Using the ROM you dumped and a GBA flashcart. I have an alternate version of the actual cartridge from a different manufacturer on its way, if there's any differences I'll be sure to post them.

Edit..

Wait, your actual cartridge crashes? So you can't even play to beyond level 1 on it?

Well, at least it can be verified that it's not an isolated incident. Apparently the copy protection on both Ruby & Sapphire (or whatever was used to half-ass break it) has to do with the savegame system. My copy of Sapphire does the same exact thing, it hangs at a black screen after you complete a level but if you turn the GBA on/off and select continue it starts off on the next level.

Brush roller use the rom from this youtube video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kW5Ttsh7OcY. It is 100% cracked unlike the digimon sapphire from neo fuji.

the rom linked in that video description is literally the same rom as the one I posted on Neo Fuji, same checksum and everything, the uploader even mentions the "credits after every level" issue which is a pretty clear sign of it *not* being a 100% cracked version

Taizou i know but it is possible to recreate the correct rom dump by using a hex editor then.
