Google Maps' April Fools gag
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:18:20 PM »
Google never fails to amuse during April Fool's Day. And this time, Google Maps has introduced a new feature that's totally relevant to this forum. :D

But first, go watch the promotional video for it:

No idea how long past April Fool's Day it will stay up, but right now, if you go to Google Maps and click on "Quest", you'll be able to browse the entire map in this mode.

wonderful. Even for a joke or an april fools' day gag, still is a very elaborated gift from Google.

Might be worth noting that the graphics in the overworld view (or whatever it's called in Google Maps) are from Dragon Warrior.

Also worth pointing out that you can find random pictures if you zoom in and look hard enough. ;)

Oh my god, that's awesome. :D  It certainly fits my area, seeing all the overgrown fields, trees, and animals around here.

I found a blue ghost with a hat off the coast of Cuba, a dark mage somewhere in the west of France, a dragon on the Georgia-Louisiana border and a knight in Sicily. :P

Despite April fools' day being over and all, you can still access this via this link.
Also, there's apparently pandas in Washington DC  :P

...

Take a look at what happens if you go into street view.
