Edit: I added a Sonic 2 Beta page, seeing as I had all these pics of pirate carts and it's personally one of the rare items I'm after. Anyone think there should be a separate section of the wiki for that prototypes that got pirated?
I'd agree on that, if we can come up with enough pirated prototypes. Also, on the StH2 beta page, should I add information on the individual zones or link the article to the Sonic Retro page?
Yeah, best to just link to the Sonic Retro page, since all the differences in the game and such aren't relevant really for a pirate community, seeing as it's still an official game. Just the pirating of it is what should be noted on this site.

Heh. I might play through it myself, though I recently promised myself I'd start getting into Amiga gaming. I agree with what was said above btw, whoever designed the way text displays in this game wasn't thinking right :X

Added some Pokemon pirates for GB. Perhaps I can add one for their apparent developer, Good Life, but there's honestly not much to say about them since they're still a mystery. Added a Tiny Toon Adventures 3 page also, since that's the game I definitely want to find the most. Hopefully this will give it exposure and bring someone here :x

And I posted a topic about this place at the Assembler message boards. Hopefully that brings an influx of new members!

Anyone think there should be a separate section of the wiki for that prototypes that got pirated? Other examples that come to mind at the moment are Fido Dido for Genesis and Time Diver for Famicom.

Only explanation that comes to my mind is maybe they own the cart and opened it up and found that year on the PCB. I know from what MLX has said that it seems lots of JY games have a year on the PCB at least.

Weapons are in the shop with the character 武 on the front. The guide I'm reading recommends buying the items 布衣 and 譚鞋 for equipment, and 白露 for restoring health.

To get out of the first town you have to go to the very bottom left house and then search the pots. The search option is the very bottom option when you press A. Once you find the item you need you go back to the main palace or whatever and talk to the guy in there(talking is done by choosing the first option that comes up when pressing A, if anyone doesn't know). Once that conversation is over open up the menu with A again, choose the third option, and use the only item you have.

Essentially the whole point of this is to get some item that allows you to do a crow like a rooster, so the guards get tricked into thinking it's daytime and they'll open the gate at the bottom of the city for you =p

Game Boy / How to identify a V.Fame game from the cart or box

Only V.Fame will never have GAME written on the side, only GB. That's one of the things you gotta look out for =p

Just a little thing I noticed, and thought might be interesting to some. I'm almost confident that this always tells that a game is from V.Fame.

It's simple really, just look at the side. Besides the games from V.Fame that clearly show their logo on the front, anything else made by them always has these same characteristics:
1. It always says NEW GB COLOR on the side
2. There's always that little blurb thing at the bottom left in Chinese that reads 全部的NEW GAME共通, which means Compatible with all New Game.

Here's an example that confused me before.

I used to always think this was a V.Fame game going by the NEW GB COLOR thing on the side, until taizou got it. Now I notice the difference. The blurb about compatibility on the bottom left looks different. Yeah, that's it =p Here's another V.Fame game to show the difference:

NEW GB COLOR isn't in a white border anymore, but it's there along with the same compatibility blurb. And this game is confirmed to be V.Fame, it's what's dumped as Shawu Story.

Different font for NEW GB COLOR on the side, but still same text, same blurb. It's a V.Fame game alright!

Nope, not V.Fame. It says NEW GAME COLOR, not NEW GB COLOR, and the compatibility blurb is different.

You get the idea. Seems V.Fame always kept this exact same style for their carts and boxes, and of all pics I have of any V.Fame games that don't have their logo explicitly on it, they always look exactly like what I've shown. So if you find anything and wonder if V.Fame made, you know what to look for now :)

I guess advertisement on other forums is needed. I'll make a post on Assembler and other boards I frequent I guess, should get things up a bit I think.

One of the things that's really lacking out there is a pirate-centric community. So far it's just a bunch of scattered forums on websites that only cover certain pirates they own, and usually only for one system. This wiki I believe should finally be "it", the main site to go to for all pirates for all systems, any information available.

But in order for it to really be a complete community, it needs a proper message board. Right now the wiki just links to some other wiki integrated thing that's hard to navigate and not pleasant to look at. I think it makes sense that this forum become the main community center of the website. Right now, this forum is only something that a few select people can get to from knowing about it on the RX Forums. It really deserves to be more, especially since the RX community is like the only other forum where people discuss all this stuff, yet it's not pirate-centric like this place is.

In short, this forum should be made more obvious to be THE place for pirates, and be officially part of the wiki. Then we might actually get a real community, rather than a few guys from RX    To tell the truth, I've been personally thinking of starting my own website that covers pirates of all systems, but the more I think about it, the more it seems that any other site would be needless so long as there's a main site for everything plus a forum for everything.

What does everybody else think?

I've started adding galleries to pages, trying to add all cart pics and variations that are out there. Adds more life to the pages I think  ^_^

If anybody else has pics to share you should go ahead and add them. I'm actually surprised pretty much no pages have a single pic of their actual cart.

Edit: I added a Super Mario World 64 page, first time writing so it's a bit..not good? Plus it's my fisr time messing with wiki really at all, so the formatting's a bit screwy possibly. If anybody wants to touch it up, feel free. Oh, and I can't figure out how to put it under the games section, or Genesis area etc. Someone lemme know how that's done for the future =p

Pirate Talk / Your favorite and least favorite pirate music(s)

Like:
Lion King II Megadrive - Has a nice Chinese sound to it, especially level 4 I think. Awesome
Squirrel King
Chao Ji Da Fu Wu Megadrive - Like Lion King II, it's got some Chinese-ish jingles that make megadrive pirates awesome
Zelda LTTP Famicom - Nostalgiac feeling to it, if it's original music they did a good job

Hate:
Sonic 3D Blast 5 on Gameboy
Maybe all Gameboy pirates? =p

I don't know about what Sky League has, but I found out that they actually sell games on Taobao, and supposedly it's brand new boxed, so I went for it :P See for yourself.

The name isn't the same, that's all I can go off of. You do have a point though, the title screen calls it Pokemon and has a Charmander on the title, yet the actual game is Digimon. Maybe what they got really is just a hack of the V.Fame game. When(if, I ordered three days ago and still my order isn't being done) I get it in the mail I'll be sure to post what it actually is.

And it probably goes without saying, but I bet Digimon, and Taz if it really is a port from Genesis, are both based off the same engine Picachu and Pokemon Gold Silver are. WIth the Bonkers music too no doubt.
